Unparalleled Victory for Alberta and Canada as UCP wins Supreme Majority

The tide has turned.

Yesterday Alberta elected a supreme majority UCP government. It's welcome good news for Albertans and more bad news for Trudeau's corrupt Liberals.

I was at the UCP HQ on election night. Jason Kenny's historic victory speech will echo through the ages as the moment Canada changed for the best.

If Kenny is successful, he will lay down a template that can be used by governments across the free world to push back the Soros hydra of political pressure groups. Tides, Suzuki, Dogwood, Greenpeace and the rest will no longer have free run to destroy businesses, families and entire economies.

I recorded it for you from the floor of the Big Four at Stampede Park in Calgary. It is by far the best view if you get what politics is really about. It's the grass roots view.

Enjoy the speech. Relief is here. Now we have work to do.

Mulcair doesn't know

On Friday Thomas Mulcair responded to a question about yet another bozo eruption by saying "I don't know." He said his years as a politician have taught him when to say "I don't know."

There is a lot more he doesn't know.  Mulcair's NDP has promised never to run a deficit.  Never ever.  How will he do that?  He doesn't know.  Nobody knows.

Would he cut services?  He would hike taxes.  That's a fact whatever happens in the global economy.  But that doesn't ensure he'll break even, not while he promises to gut the oil patch in favor of these mythical "good jobs."

What exactly is a "good job" anyway?  He doesn't know.

How will he create these "good jobs".  He doesn't know.

The NDP is promising $15 per day child care.  How exactly?  He doesn't know.

Mulcair touched on funding his day care plan by abolishing the Senate in the last debate:

"I believe sincerely that the only way to deal with the Senate is to get rid of it. One billion dollars has been spent on the Senate... Can you imagine how many child care spaces we could have created with $1 billion, Mr. Wells?"

How will Mulcair abolish the Senate?  He doesn't know!

Does that sound like someone who knows where they will get the money for his day care plan?

Thomas Mulcair doesn't know any of that.  He does know that what we need is "1 million day care spaces."  Why one million?  Where?  He doesn't know.

These day care spaces will likely only be in big cities.  Rural families will be forced to subsidize urban ones.  Ask your NDP candidate how many of the magical million spaces will be in your riding?  They don't know.

How much will these lebensborn government nannies be paid?  How long before that isn't enough? How will you handle government nanny strikes?  What hours of the day will $15 get me?  Would a Syrian refugee take precedence over my child getting a space?  Will you distribute these spaces based on household income?

They don't know.  They don't know.  They don't know.

The media doesn't want to know.  They don't ask.  They don't want us to know.  They just want to see the back of Prime Minister Harper no matter how good he is.  It doesn't matter how good the economy is or how many refugees we take.  They are in the business of interesting times.  The middle east is very interesting.  It dominates the news every day.  The media wants an idiot in the PMO so they can say "oh how did this happen!"

Well I don't care what the media wants.  I want Stephen Harper and so does Canada.  Thomas Mulcair can say "I don't know" to his media all day.   We deserve to make an informed decision on election day.  We deserve to know Thomas Mulcair and the NDP even if they don't know themselves.  I suspect that the NDP is nothing more than a collection of words some people want to hear.

Implications of the Alberta Election on Federal Politics

I've read most of the pundits opining on the Alberta election and the NDP.  Many of them are spot on. More than a few of them are the sort of fantasy wish that projects phoney conclusions onto real events.  They get away with it because nobody can test their opinions before the Federal Election and after the election it will all be forgotten.

It's disappointing however that none of the professional talkers and opinion makers actually considered the real implications federally.  Conservatives were not punished Tuesday night.  They, the Wildrose, were rewarded.  Progressives took a thrashing for their progressive governing.

The first myth is that the election has no implication on the federal scene.  This is a bipartisan belief but stems from different viewpoints.

On the left they don't want to get their hopes up at least not too high.  Many on the left are already emotionally invested in Trudeau and the idea that "Angry Tom" could beat their Dartanion is anathema because Harper is also a big meanie in their sad little heads.  The script is set.  It will be personality and charisma vs experience and success.  They may not put it that way but that's what it will be.  Mulcair being experienced and lacking charm interferes with this scheme.  Mulcair's place is to lose badly and pave the way for boy Trudeau.

On the right the fears aren't so nuanced.  They fear an orange wave exactly like the one in Alberta.  Nothing is impossible.  There are scenarios where this could happen but they belong in the realm of Black Swan events.  Everyone recognizes this and immediately dismisses any relevance of the Alberta election to Federal politics.

They are both wrong though.  This does have implications for Federal Politics.

The Federal NDP have been written off almost from the moment Jack Layton departed.  Everyone saw the last Federal Election where NDP surged in Quebec.  It was both a rejection of the Bloc and a sympathetic gesture to smiling Jack Layton.  Mulcair has none of that going for him.  All things equal the Orange Wave of 2011 should experience a neep tide.  Those seats would presumably going to the Liberals in 2016.

But hang on.  Is that really going to happen?  The biggest single factor will be the NDP themselves.  Alberta's NDP win was a needed shot in the arm.  A confidence boost that will propel them to at least try to keep all those seats.  I'm sure a few more votes will flow their way as a result of this weeks events.  As long as they are kept from Justin Trudeau it's a very good thing.  We have the makings of an excellent brawl on the left.  All the NDP has to do is show up.

Now look at Alberta next October.  Don't discount the confusion between the federal Conservative Party and the defunct Alberta Progressive Conservative Party.  Its a confusion enemy pundits are all too willing to exploit especially while Prentice was around.  It's "Tory" this and "Tory" that and the sad retort "they aren't Tory's" is all but vanished now.  It's a shame.

I have an uncle in Ontario who has a nice TTC pension now.  You can imagine the debates we have.  He would bring up all kinds of nasty things Mulroney and the rest did and I could join in with him and say "this is a totally different Conservative Party, we turfed all those assholes and good riddance."  Wildrose gets to do that now.  Everyone should trash Progs at every level whenever possible.

I still meet people who drift from federal to provincial politics in the same conversation without quite grasping the real separation.  Progressives have been giving Conservatives a bad name for far too long.  It's nice to have another fragment of the old PC franchise out of the picture.

Notley's honeymoon should be over by summer.  I predict that nothing will be fixed.  Special interests are publicly lining up for their due already.  The Government will grow larger at an even faster rate while taxes and economic uncertainty will take their toll.  The palpable anxiety of the producer class can only grow in this environment.  How will those voters perceive the liability of a Trudeau or Mulcair government?  I think you know the answer, but note how many of these wise pundits are willing to lead you to it.

This should coincide nicely with Ontario's Liberal fatigue.  If Conservatives are still worried then that is good too.  It's great in fact.  My observation of the CPC is that it seems to perform better when the Party is scared.    Confidence and forthrightness should not be allowed to drift into deadly arrogance.  Honesty and humility as well should be the watchwords of every minister.  Nobody thinks you are perfect, so don't pretend.  Don't try to pull a fast one on voters.  Conservative voters are the savviest out there and they see and understand everything.   Next fall its going to be: here's our record; here's our plan; here's an axe and here's our necks; is there anything else we can do for you Sir/Madam?

Could Opposition Policy on ISIS Draw Attacks on Canadians?

On March 11th 2004 Al Qaeda killed 191 people and injured 1800 others in Madrid Spain.  10 homemade bombs were detonated in passenger trains almost simultaneously.  The bombs exploded via cell phone trigger while 4 more were discovered unexploded.

This was perpetrated just 3 days before the Spanish General Election.  Spain was a country divided at the time over joining the second Iraq war.  The terrorist attack was a key event in the election and toppled the ruling party for a socialist party who advocated withdrawing from the Iraq.

It was a master stroke for the Islamists.  Al Qaeda could never have removed the Spaniards from the Iraq war by force of arms.  Instead they managed to remove Spain with 10 bombs targeting civilians on their own soil and turned an election.  Diabolical evil.

10 years later we find ourselves in Canada approaching a situation similar to Spain's.  An election looms in the near future and the Harper Government is compelled to enter a war in Iraq.  Also similarly the parties are divided about the war.  The Harper Government supports direct, though minimal, military intervention against ISIS.  The opposition socialist parties if elected would withdraw that support.

This is in contrast to other anti-ISIS coalition members.  European countries who are arguably both more socialist and "progressive" than Canada have voted unanimously in their democratic houses to fight ISIS.  Here the NDP and Liberals are focused on election politics and have tried to use the ISIS threat as a wedge issue.  On the question of sending a miniscule force to engage the most brutal and bloodthirsty army since the Nazi terror our House voted 157 - 134 in favor.

As we know that same House of Parliament was attacked by ISIS last week.  The so-called "lone wolf" was ideologically identical to the terrorist army we are currently at war with.  The murderer would have surely gone to Iraq to fight with ISIS if not for his passport being withheld.  The terrorists Satanic sacrifice on our National War Memorial and the cold premeditated attack on our uniformed soldier earlier in the week are a clear message to Canadians from ISIS.

There certainly seems to have been an uptick in terrorism towards Canada since the war on ISIS began.  The twin attacks last week were followed by a threat on our Embassy in Turkey for example.  We'll have to stay vigilant for more of the same.

ISIS has named Canada several times in its threats as well as other countries.  The major difference between Canada and its allies is that our involvement in the war against ISIS pivots on the outcome of next year's election.  Canada is the only country made vulnerable by its opposition parties this way.

ISIS currently does not have the means to knock our CF-18s out of the sky.  The only way to remove our 6 CF-18s from the battle space is politically.  Through terrorism ISIS can turn Carl von Clauswits on his head.   For ISIS politics is a continuation of war by other means.

By-election Results Confirm Conservative Fortunes

A bias can include many things but one of those things is a model of reality kept in your mind.  These models are commonly called paradigms or a worldview.  Nothing is more satisfying than having one's worldview born out by events.  You could argue this is an example of confirmation bias.  If it is then I would say that I prefer to have my worldview confirmed rather than shattered.

Monday, our views were confirmed.

Here are results from ThreeHundredEight.com:

You don't have to be a glass half full person to appreciate what actually happened.  Conservatives won their two seats no matter how you cut it.  It's a burn on the media party.  Their frantic spinning now only proves it.

Yesterday's by-election results have confirmed a few things for Conservatives.

  1. The so-called Senate Scandal, pushed hard by media and other malicious actors, is not as important as advertised.  Its a parking ticket.  A parking ticket venomously written up by nasty little pin heads with petty chips on their shoulders.
  2. The Liberals and Justin Trudeau are the primary threat to the Conservatives.  People who brush off the third party (or the "turd party" as Chretien liked to say) are deluding themselves.  Romney should be President.  Smith and Hudak should be Premiers.  Don't think any election is in the bag.  The next election is as serious as the coalition crisis of 2008 itself.
  3. Layton's NDP was a flash in the pan.  Of all the analysis, the most stark is the NDP in marked decline from 2011.  Largely ignored by the Media Party, this is the most powerful conclusion to be drawn from any of the by-election contests.  Mulcair dramatically played Matlock for the parking ticket Senate affair in parliament and where did it get him?  Down.  Thanks for wasting everyone's time angry Tom.
Of course I couldn't be happier if Conservatives had swept every riding, but realistically I'm glad to see my expectations for the by-elections fulfilled.

Our political maps are good.  The shallows and hazards are well marked.  Our course to victory is sound so long as we stay on it.

The NDP Hidden Agenda

So the NDP is completely in favor of the European Free Trade deal CETA?

I don't buy it.  I don't believe the dippers support "free" anything that wasn't taken from someone else first.

When you look at the NDP press release you see their current strategy is to wait. People are too happy about the deal to oppose it.  Even the press release itself has an overlarge image of Mr. Angry smiling so hard there seems to be a "safe injection site" on his forehead.  Boy Mulcair really loves his free trade.

Of course they are waiting for one of the special interest groups to cry foul.  When they do people like Jim Stanford, a union economist, will be there to negatively bafflegab about it.  Jim opposed corporate tax cuts in the last election.  He opposes NAFTA.  He has a sour opinion on current trade with the EU and says that: "The problem here is not trade. The problem is free trade."

It's only a matter of time before the NDP is publicly against CETA. Including the initial deception, its just who they are.

Fractured Thinking From The NDP

Mulcair came out of hiding yesterday and he seemed extra grumpy about the boon to mankind known as fracking.  He even cited the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) to back him up.  Have a look.

Dear me those are some tough questions.  Shall I spoil it?  Would you like to know what is Frack Fluid?  I'll save it for later.  NDP righteous indignation is something to savor.  Its not exactly the Colonels secret sauce but trade secrets are the issue here not the environment.

There's something else that Mulcair said that is more troubling.  "The number of fracking wells accross Canada is expected to double by 2020," thundered the anti-development NDP leader.  (How horrible! /sarc)

When the NDP acts alarmed at the doubling of drilling and fracing activity, its because they don't want any activity.  They see it as inherently wrong to grow an industry.

I might remind some of you that every single well drilled anywhere today is fracked.  They have been fracking wells for over 60 years and regularly for almost 40 years.
Then

The only difference between then and now is the horizontal aspect and its corresponding multistage fracking techniques.  "Packers" basically seal off segments of the horizontal section and hydraulically (using water pressure for the morons) fracture the zone as if it were a regular old vertical well.  No extra pressure.  Negligible extra water.

Now

Every well is fracked for the same reason that almost every well is now horizontal and fracked.  Wells are expensive to drill.  Fracking increases production from the zone and horizontal drilling hits more of the zone than a vertical well could.  Its pretty simple.

Even simplicity can be a problem when it comes to these eco-tards.  The diagrams above for example have been significantly dumbed down.  They are more like schematics that allow a total novice to quickly wrap their minds around it.  They are not to scale!

You've probably already encountered a know-nothing activist who's been taken in by a pamphlet with similar diagrams.  My goodness that's like 100 meters below your garden!   Look at the size of those cracks! They must cause earthquakes! (lol)

Ok, first the fracking itself.  These are hairline fractures they are creating.  They use sand grains (proppant) to lodge into and hold the cracks open once they let the pressure off.  Got it?  No earthquake was ever caused by a tiny crack a kilometer below the surface.

Now the scale.  Here is a chart of very tall man made structures for some perspective.

Some Perspective

See that pyramid?  Its only 150 meters tall.  Somewhere between the Eiffel Tower and the Great Pyramid is where they would drill their "Surface Casing."  By law they stop there to "Case" (install permanent 1/4" thick steel pipe) and cement it to the surrounding rock.

Even if they stop there, they have already surpassed any drinkable aquifer by over 100 meters.  Oilmen have been doing this part for over a century.  Only drilling down to the equivalent height of the Burj Khalifa do they begin to turn into the horizontal (the kickoff point).  It still takes several hundreds of meters to "land" or bend drill pipe enough that its drilling horizontal.

Every well is different but its typical to see wells ~1km or ~1.5km of true vertical depth.  I can't think of anything that can compare to this depth.  A wall of rock 1.5km thick could stop a nuclear bomb.  It would take a planet killer meteor strike to unearth those depths.  Plans to store nuclear waste underground don't even come close to this.

It's another planet down there.  Its hot: ~200 degrees Celsius in any weather.  Its wet: the inland sea that used to cover much of Canada is still down there with the ancient lithified reefs, sand bars, and mud banks.  Its brackish: the salt is still there along with a soup of other minerals that dissolve a lot more readily at that temperature, pressure and eons in the dark.

In fact it isn't much different than the fracking fluid.  That is the big secret.  Brackish water is used for fracking.  They do use some small amounts of addatives to tailor the fluids properties to match the specific geology of the zone.  They can make the fluid more or less viscous or acidic or resistant to changes in Ph (buffers).  The really exciting stuff can make the fluid less viscous at low pressure and more viscous at high pressure.  This allows it to flow easily at the surface where you want it to flow and push against the rock at depth where you want it to fracture.

The Human mind is the greatest resource.  I love humanity.

Waste water is recycled for fracking again and again.  Did you think they left it in the ground?  Once the well is fracked the pressure is reversed (duh!).  Oil, water, condensate, all of it goes back up the well bore.  Condensate floats on oil and oil floats on water so when they start producing water they know the well is "dry".

Once fracking is finished all the fluid is carted away to a treatment plant to remove anything that affects the fracking equipment.  Nobody will ever drink this water.  Its cleaned up to the extent that it can be used again in the next well.  Dissolved Iron is one example nuisance that has to be removed before re-use.

All this is done in farmers fields with bored cattle looking on.  They are there and then they are gone.  A well is being fracked not 2 minutes from where I sit in my home right now.  I am not a gambling man.  I have absolute trust that my life and those of my loved ones and neighbors and all our dreams and fortunes are safe from these routine tried and tested operations.  These operations allow us all to live healthier wealthier lives together and have done so for decades.

Doesn't it strike you as just a little odd, that when peak oil is a distant concern, and clean burning natural gas is abundant and cheap, that suddenly fracking becomes the next global warming?  Do me a favor?  Next time one of these ignorant closet Marxist green cultist pukes tries to "raise your awareness" make them aware they should go pound oil sand.

Pierre Poutine: the smear within a smear

When this faux scandal started, I didn't know what to think.  Maybe some idiot did something dirty to "help" the CPC?  How was I to know?  How was anyone to know?  All we had were baseless accusations and mass generated complaints from the left's smear engines.

I focused on the absurdity of the crime. On twitter I cracked jokes about the weakness of the left wing mind.  I recommended a higher protein diet which would not only strengthen the resolve of a robocall victim but also increase the resistance to left wing arguments to begin with.

Then we found out who ordered the robocalls.  Pierre Poutine.  Now I am strongly suspicious that is a setup by the left.  A rogue operative who was tuned in enough to order a sophisticated voter suppression campaign would buy a burner phone with a pseudonym that further harms the good name of the CPC?  It doesn't add up.

The CPC is hypersensitive of the smears they are already accused of.  They would never make an insulting affront to Quebec culture this way.  Pierre Poutine from Separatist Street indeed.  No other party would be as damaged by this name as the CPC.  The burner phone was meant to be found.  Else why use a burner phone?

"Aha!  The Quebec Haters!"  That is the reaction Pierre Poutine was intended to incite.   Pierre Poutine is a smear within a smear.  This faux scandal is a Russian doll of dirty politics practiced by the left everywhere.
Think it through.  Imagine you were a rogue election spoiler.  Once this thing blows up, they are going to find the phone.  You could choose a generic name that means nothing.  Joe Smith from 2012 Young Street  Ontario.  Whoever did this, tried instead to put smoke in the gun.  They used a name which suggests the Torys; the arch enemy of the Separatists.  If he/she wanted to pin it on the NDP he/she would have used maybe Jack Layton (and the NDP would correctly make this exact argument).

That is why I don't buy this whole thing.  It's too cute by half, as they say.  Pierre Poutine, if he was really pro CPC, would be paranoid in the extreme of getting caught.  A person this crafty just isn't going to leave hints to his identity unless it was intentional misdirection.

Furthermore the moniker Pierre Poutine implies some projection as well.  The person who did this is external to the CPC.  A person internal to the CPC would know how important it is to win Quebec (someday).  An external person unintentionally projects their imagination onto the CPC.  I'm sure they imagine rooms filled with cigar smoke where men with their feet on the furniture laugh about poking Quebeckers in the eye.  That's the narrative.  It makes no sense that the CPC would play to it.

The timing also bugs me.  Why now?  Why not immediately after the election?  Why not in January?  I think I know why not.  The honeymoon is over.  The enemy waited until the Government screwed up on its own.  Bill C30 had true conservatives calling out the CPC.  That played out so now its time for Robocall.

Without a shred of proof the left deployed their well oiled smear engines in an attempt to delegitemize the duly elected government.  Andrew Coyne leading the parade.  Media and Politicians slandered with impunity.  Never ask for perspective from legacy media.  It's sensation that sells, so they think.

Which is the bigger scandal? Some unidentified rogue player in the election attempted to misdirect a few thousand voters?  Or is it that some rogue player, the media, and the left wing parties jumped at the chance to fraudulently overturn a free and fair election.  One that they just happened to lose?  Tell me, where are cries of "my God" for the more likely and more despicable scenario?

All these massive complaints facilitated by external entities like Avaaz just happen to arise at the same time, almost a year after the fact.  There are many little inconsistencies and illogical assumptions in this faux scandal that just don't add up.  They don't add up the way the left wants them to.  They add up to something else: a calculated smear attack.

Vikileaks was perpetrated by a Liberal Party staffer but he was given the info by the NDP.  Neat trick eh?  Played them for patsies.  Devised the attack but got the Liberals to do the dirty work.  Liberals despise the CPC as much or more as I do them.  Liberals also have nothing to lose.  So they went and did it.

It could have been the Liberals or it could have been the NDP.  It could have been an external entity or it could have been Elections Canada itself.  Elections Canada who has the means and mandate to actually make robocalls on Election Day and change voting locations may have been hijacked for the deed or may just be incompetent.

I don't know who is behind it but I know in my gut that the mark for this faux scandal the CPC is very unlikely to be the culprit.

People seem to catch on faster than the sophist intelligentsia will ever give them credit for.  They've built a whole industry out of telling people they can't possibly think for themselves.  All too often they are the ones who don't think for themselves.  There's that projection again.  They assume we are dumb as they are.  On the bright side, the smart people have tuned out.  They have cried wolf so many times that nobody cares.  Detachment from these leftard politicians and media lackeys is about the smartest thing a thinking person can do.

Unfortunately when politicians from any party act in despicable ways it taints them all.  It comes back on the Government anyway.  This is exactly what Pierre Poutine was aiming for in the first place.

The Calgary East all Candidates Debate

Yesterday I attended the all Candidates Debate in Calgary East.  I'm not going to do an actual report as if it was anything more than a mickey mouse version of the leaders debate.  It was however entertaining to watch politics in action and witness the local media coverage and spin.

The only agency to cover the debate was Global Calgary.  I'll get to the expected media bias of the actual segment but it seemed to me that the programming editor arranged to have nobody at all see it.  I don't really ever watch Global Calgary so I can't really say if it's normally so off-putting.

The big story of the day was the weather.  Snow!  Somebody snapped a picture of a bird in the snow.  Awe.  They came back to the story 6 or 7 times over the hour.  I wasn't counting.  The debate segment was right at the end of the hour.  It was right behind a story about a lady who didn't like her sofa.  I'm not kidding.  Who will pay for the sofa?  The lady doesn't like it.  It wobbles.  It sinks too deep.  Wow.  Anyone still watching by this point must have been on the phone or in the bathroom.

Finally, the debate coverage!  What was covered?  A ruckus caused by an unkempt and disheveled heavy set man at the back.  Him and a co-ordinator for the seniors hall sitting next to him could not keep quiet during Deepak Obhria's opening remarks.  The co-ordinator would let out load moans and sighs while the unkempt man was more vocal.

"My ears hurt!" He was shouting over our MP.  "Let him speak." Others were saying.  He also said that the Deepak's statements were "pressing him into his seat."  He felt like "his chair would soon fall over backwards."  Three rows ahead of the man, I felt no such effect.

That was it.  Global didn't show any of that.  They showed arguing.  Its amazing to me that there can be a dispute about being quiet during opening remarks of a debate but there you have it.  The controversy according to Global.  Nobody is watching anyway.

The rest of the debate was very silly.  The various antics of the opposition staff had me tempted to throw a word grenade  of my own into the mix, but I still have honour.  I'm a partisan.  I want to hear the people speak... in between the antics of the desperate partizan's in the room.

The NDP candidate was pretty entertaining. He said voting NDP "is like playing baseball."
"Sometimes you hit a home run.  Sometimes you have to take one for the team."
I will hit my home runs for me and I won't be taking one or ten for any NDP team, thanks.

He also said that Jack Layton was from Toronto, making him especially attuned to the needs of Calgary East.

He would pull our troops out of Afghanistan and somehow return to "when Canadians stood like Giants of peacekeeping."

He said he would not stop the Tar sands but impose a Cap and trade carbon tax and raise corporate taxes to 19% .  Then he complained about gas prices ans oil subsidies, as if NDP promises would make gasoline cheaper.

You get the feeling the NDP will say anything and knows nothing.

The Liberal lectured the audience on the structure of the UN a if we were in her class and then later called Conservatives "reckless teenagers."  Standard stuff.  She did get quite a laugh from the crowd when she claimed Liberals would get a majority in this election or the next.  It is pretty funny.

The Greens did a lot of talking but nobody is listening.

Deepak Obhria was himself.  He is a seasoned campaigner of 14 years.  He laid out the familiar Conservative vision of a safe and strong economy.  He also warned against the Coalition.  On the question of the UN seat Deepak masterfully shot down the Liberal by saying "we will not compromise Canadian values for the sake of a security council seat."  Many general assembly votes in the corrupt UN belong to autocratic dictators like Colonel Gaddaffi or Mubarak of Egypt. The Liberal even mentioned Egypt by name.

I'm glad we didn't pander to the likes of them.  Liberals want Canada to be a doormat for every misogynistic racist, lets say it: evil, abusive tyrant of the middle east and the world.   The UN is an unelected and corrupt body that is showing visible signs of decay.  But that's my opinion.

That's what I heard and saw.  It was worth attending and I would do it again.  I much more appreciate door knocking.  Its nice to talk to people one on one in their homes; unscripted and less the phony antics of the desperate parties and their biased media friends.  Politics happens on the doorsteps of constituents.  The rest is just manipulated media circus and people are tuning out.

Update: Calgary Herald had a similar story.  Heckler, personal remarks heat up Calgary East forum

Majority now or later

I can't think of a more painful way to get a majority Conservative government than to submit to a socialist coalition led by Jack "lay-off" Layton.  He didn't get anyone laid off?  Well you just wait.  I really don't want to go through an NDP era the way Ontario did with Bob Rae.

Can we skip that please?  Canadians, think of your family, your neighbors, your fellow citizens half a world away and blissful under the same flag.  The Liberal ship is going down.  Its only a vote.  You can even be a loyal Liberal and vote Conservative just this once.  Look at that party.  Its a disaster.  You will keep getting Martins and Dions and Iggys if you don't shut them down.  Conservatives had to vote Liberal in order to slap down the Progressive Conservatives.  Its your turn.

Let Iggy go down with the ship.  You don't have to go down with him.  There is no shame in success.  Let the Liberals beg for your loyalty next time around.

We will all go down if lay-off Layton sneaks in.  20 billion in Carbon Taxes.  Hundreds of billions sucked out of the economy in total.  Larger endless structural deficits as Government expands explosively.  And to top it off we reopen the constitution!

Do you know what Meech lake was about?  Separatists have personally griped about that to me and it happened when we were kids.  This next time I fear there will be more than one provincial nationalist at the table.  Bring in a Green Shift/NEP2 and there will be several grieved parties to deal with.

Yes, he is that stupid.  A grinning fool.  He says so himself.  We are looking at the worst of all outcomes with the NDP in power.  "We can do this" is suddenly their motto.  They will do it, if you don't stop them.  Vote Conservative on May 2nd and get out the vote from everyone you know.

The Pie in the Sky Socialism of the NDP

The last thing Canadians need is a socialist wrecking ball to the fragile economy.

The latest polls showing a surging NDP in second place was delightful at first.  Its nice to see the old Grits falling flat, but a second place NDP means they will have the right to lead a coalition.  Unlike the weasel worded Liberals, the NDP has given full throated support to a Coalition with the Bloc.   They will be quite happy to overturn an election result and they might not even need the Liberals at all.

It's worse than that.  NDP promises are impossible even to the NDP.  Now that the possibility of an NDP government is actually a reality we saw them retract some of their campaign promises.  Yes its true.  I don't remember any party in any campaign in any country in the world to ever retract an expensive promise 1 week before the election.  Their actions are more astounding than their surge itself.

The retracted promise had to do with billions in spending on the back of Canadian industry.  In the last election the NDP wanted to "shut down the tar sands."  They would make the NEP look like a fun fair.  If  even the NDP has to rethink their own platform you really have to worry what these ideological purists haven't imagined they have gotten wrong.  Manufacturing, Transportation, Agriculture in addition to Energy would be hit hard.  No industry would escape.  The NDP is aiming for your pocket.

Lets look at the tricks from the NDP platform:
  • "Stop the Tar Sands" They said so in the previous election.  Now the agenda is buried in their carbon taxes.
  • Force credit cards not to go 5% above prime.  Are they going to force them to hand out cards too because  you can get loans like that if they think you can pay them back.  Does anyone really need another card?  This promise is essentially the end of credit cards.  Current accounts would be closed and new cards would probably have to be backed.
  • Abolish the Senate.  I'd like to abolish some aspects of the Senate but the whole thing would be irresponsible.  They do important work in government and adding shocks to the government while shocking the economy is a recipe for disaster.
  • Pull out of Afghanistan.  Jack always liked the Taliban.  He would leave those people high and dry, undo all our hard work and make future terrorist doubt our resolve.  If there was a war that was more justified and worthwhile since WW2 its Afghanistan.  Our combat role is over but our contribution isn't.
  • Reopen the Constitution.  What could go wrong?  Woopee!
  • Balance the budget by 2014.  LOL.  The platform that includes jokes.
Of course, this platform was never intended to be taken seriously.  A coalition provides a good excuse for completely ignoring any and all promises.  This goes for Liberals too.

They make tax and spend Liberals look tame by comparison.  Iggy would be nothing more than a minister while Jack would actually be PM.  Jack would turn this country around all right.  We would go directly into the same dumpster the United States finds itself in.  How many examples do we need that socialism doesn't work?

I don't suppose that BQ voters who flirt with ruinous federal socialists would ever vote Conservative.  The majority of Canadians who are in the center should wake up and realize this is a two party system.  You don't have to love the PM, but the alternative is a far left coalition of losing parties headed by a socialist and supported by a separatist and a zombie party.

Pick up a newspaper.  We aren't out of the woods.  Don't gamble your country with an experimental socialist coalition.  They will personally cost you thousands of dollars and collectively put us all deep in the hole.  On May 2nd Vote Conservative.

A Coalition Lawn Sign

Earlier today SDA suggested that we call our local Liberal candidate and request a Coalition lawn sign.  That made me wonder what one of these signs would look like.

Here it is!

Coalition Lawn Sign
Can you hear it?  Sounds like the perfect metaphor for the Coalition to me.

FNU Local # 999

We're the Federal Nannies Union Local 999.  We're entitled to your children and their expert care.  You see parents have been raising evil conservatives who cause all the problems.  We are here to put a stop to it.

We are the cradle department of cradle to grave socialism.  When you have a child, you give them to us.  We'll teach them everything while you work to pay us in taxes.  We can never be fired, but if you elect people who cut our numbers we'll make sure you lose your job too.  We'll strike if you touch our entitlements and you'll be forced to stay home and be an illegal nanny scab.

Ambition-less proles fit best into our Great Society.  When we find an intelligent individual, its our job to break them down and teach them there is no hope but The System.

It all started Back in 2011 when Count Ignatieff courageously broke his promise and formed the Socialist Party, a coalition with the Bloc, NDP, MSM and the Greens....Happy April Fools ;)

The Coalition is a Rock Solid Certainty

Here is my logic:  The Conservatives will have as a central plank the removal of the $1.95 per vote Party subsidy.  The Liberals and the Bloc in particular have not been able to raise money yet somehow foolish bankers still lend it to them.  I believe that TD Bank as much as the Liberal leadership will force the Liberals into a Coalition to ensure they don't default on their campaign loans.  Since repealing party welfare will be a campaign promise for the Conservatives, it will be considered part of the mandate of a newly minted minority or majority Conservative Government.

As we saw in 2008, the loss of these taxpayer funds is unacceptable to the socialist parties.  Mandate or not, the only way to keep the party welfare will be to Coalition.  The only way to prevent a Coalition will be to elect a Conservative Majority Government.

There you have it.  It really is majority or bust.

I'm sure you've read and watched and heard all the assurances that there will be a Coalition of left wing losers.  You've heard it from the Prime Minister and Ministers and all the MPs on down to the lowliest blogger and supporter.

You haven't heard it from the MSM until very lately.  Only courageous voices  like Roy Green and John Ivison have been able to surface.  The CBC and CTV have repeatedly asked the question "is there really going to be a Coalition?  Is this just a Conservative boogey-man?"  They pretend not to have two brain cells to rub together but don't you believe that either.  It's you who they think has only two brain cells give or take.  Questioning the Coalition makes it more likely.  If you vote Liberal, you vote Bloc and you vote NDP at the same time.  Does that help you or does it help those parties and Big Media and Big Unions?  Does the Coalition help you, or does it help the groups that hold you back?

The Uber-Left Liberal Party

So it's an election then.  You can't really expect rational decisions from socialists.  No matter how you cut it, the election is still between left and right.  Either the Liberals dominate the left, or they form a Coalition.  The numbers are possible.  We are constantly reminded that most Canadians didn't vote Conservative in 2008 and 2006.  2011 may well be the year the Conservatives break through.

The only way the Liberal Party can dominate is to get NDP voters.  The only way to do that is to steal NDP ideas.  Its clear they have abandoned the center for the slim pickings on the left.  The far left is already inhabited by three other parties.

This is an excellent strategy... for the Conservatives.  Micheal Ignatieff has never failed to disappoint the Conservative movement and we can count on him again.

Poor old Jack Layton has been outflanked.  His biggest chance was with a larger voice in a Coalition government.  He went along with the Liberal plan to delegitimize the Coalition and will now be slaughtered as the Harper haters buy into the Liberal Uber-Left party.  A severely humbled and leaderless NDP will make a very pliant Coalition partner if they survive at all.  Perhaps the beaten leftover dregs of the NDP will simply join their voters in the Liberal Party in the end.  We might be rid of the NDP altogether.  They are the going-nowhere-doing-nothing Party.  Just another wasted vote similar to voting Green or Bloc.

Yes, I believe the Liberals are capable of out-socializing the NDP.  In doing so they effectively become the NDP.  They have been known to lie their faces off to get elected but blue liberals have to ask themselves if the Liberals are really kidding with their promises.

Regular Canadians will have to ask themselves if they can afford tax & spend, lie, tax & spend some more Uber-Left Liberals.  No one can be sure what is a lie and what isn't so you just have to take their promises at face value and guess how bad it would really be.

In contrast, the Harper Government has spearheaded the global recovery by reducing taxes at all levels and wisely implementing the Economic Action Plan.  While being mired in minority parliament shenanigans, this government has enabled Canadians to pull off an economic miracle unseen in history.  We'll never know what heights we could have reached without opposition obstruction.

The opposition's foolhardy lust for power has led over the years from shenanigans to outright brinkmanship.  This week is the culmination of kangaroo contempt committees and confidence threats that has been ugly other side of these excellent years of good government.  For the glory of the parliament they purport to respect so much, they intend to shut it down.  While our CF-18's fly in combat and our Japanese allies struggle with disaster our government stands wrongfully accused of contempt.  It will be the first contempt motion in our history and it is simply because Stephen Harper has held this minority parliament together for longer than any other in history.

Let's be clear, if they mean to say contempt of the opposition, then its guilty as charged for my part.

These shenanigans have got to stop.  Now is probably the worst time, but Liberals never really cared about this country.  We will prevail because Canadians know who can best lead them.  Conservatives will win a majority, not because their entitled to it, but because they are the best team for the job.  It's a difficult and often thankless job but Conservatives are just good at it.   On Election Day Vote Conservative!

The Nitpick Non-confidence Narrative

The Opposition is pushing a new narrative to justify an election lately.  They are aiming at Tory competence by virtue of the pile on of of faux scandals and technical gotcha's.  Its meant to be death by a thousands cuts.  The idea being that a thousand cuts will be equal to the great wound of Adscam.

The only problem is that these aren't cuts at all.  They are barely even scrapes.  They are the sort of scrapes you get from playing with a kitten.  I'd imagine you could play with kittens all day and not be injured in the slightest.

Lets list the spate melodrama's in recent weeks:
  • NOT-gate: where Minister Oda modified her own memo to reflect a decision she is fully within her role to make.  Allegedly she lied about it somehow, somewhere in the two years since this decision was made.  Oddly enough, there is no film of it.  You know our media.  It would be everywhere.  We just have to take the word of the opposition.  I'm inclined to think these folks are motivated to willfully misunderstand it.  It's not about what happened.  Its about the gotcha.  When they've gotcha, look out; it's just like Adscam.
  • Memo-gate:  Minister Kenny used paper with the Parliament of Canada Logo on it to solicit funds from other MP's.  There are other interesting details to the story of how the opposition found out about the illegal stationary that I found interesting, but the Coalitions main quibble has to do with the letterhead.  For inappropriate use of parliamentary stationary the Opposition is calling for Minister Kenny to resign.  Is this Adscam too?  Its at least as serious as missing the cover page of your TPS reports.
  • Speech-Gate:  This has to be the dumbest one of all.  The Prime Minister failed to advertise a speech by Michael Ignatieff during his own speech.  I'm not sure what the protocol is to precede a speech of a Russian aristocrat like Iggy, but Stephen Harper didn't follow it.  The PM was merely opening for Count Iggy and rudely failed to mention the main event.  If you believe Liberals, its surely another Adscam.
  • Harper Government-Gate:  This faux scandal embodies the entire position the Opposition Coalition.  It's the Harper Government that they exist to oppose.  The Harper Government is a term coined by the media and opposition themselves.  When the government embraces this term, its another Adscam.
When the opposition compares these trivial issues to Adscam, it shows you how lightly they regard Adscam not how seriously they take the above.

I could go on and on.  Look at the faux scandals further out:
  • UN Seat-Gate:  The institution that gave Colonel Gaddafi a seat on the United Nation Human Rights Council gave a Security Council seat to Portugal.  Portugal is currently on the edge of another bailout while Canada leads the world in economic recovery.  The UN only makes sense to elites who kiss both cheeks like Iggy.  I don't mean the face cheeks.  Mr. Internationalist Iggy said we didn't deserve the seat and while nobody listens to Iggy, he didn't want us to win it.  He isn't here for you.  He's here for himself and them.  What do you know, with all this garbage about our international stature Canada's reputation has favorably jumped under the Harper Government.
  • Prorogation... (even though Iggy is the worst offender for skipping out on Parliament)
  • In and Out... (spending their own money when it was legal to do so)
  • Etc
  • Etc
  • Etc
I give up.  The nauseating spin from opposition mouths is that there is "a culture of deceit," in the CPC.  Every time they are asked about one of the faux scandals, they inevitably bring up the others to spin their yarns.

Unfortunately for them the tapestry they are slowly weaving isn't one of incompetence.  The pattern emerging is one of Opposition whining and complaining at the slightest imagined misstep.  This isn't a recent development either.  The majority Opposition has consistently cried foul over the last 5 years and interfered in the important work of the Harper Government.

Ironically the reason they are floating a non-confidence motion to trigger an early election is also the reason to give Stephen Harper's Conservative Government a Majority.  We've had 5 years of Opposition obstruction during some of the most challenging times in half a century.  They obstruct our mission in Afganistan.  They obstruct our justice system.  They obstruct our economy.  They obstruct our security.  They plan to obstruct the budget if we even make it there.  This Opposition takes its function to ridiculous levels.  Our system was never meant to function with a majority Opposition and yet somehow the Harper Government has succeeded on all fronts at the worst of times.

This is the most competent government I've seen in my life.  The Harper Government may well be the best government in Canadian History.  Today Canada sits on top of the world.  Its time we took the training wheels off.  Its time we gave the Harper Government a majority and realized our full potential.  No more petty obstruction.  This is the Canadian Century.  It's time we took the lead.

The Biggest Losers are the NDP

The string of good polling for the Conservative Party over shadows the other story.  While Liberals might be bleeding support to the CPC, the NDP seems to be bleeding support to the Liberals.  The Liberal hostile take over of the left wing vote seems to be having some limited success.  Its working only because they have publicly shunned their merger or Coalition.

Ignoring the big picture, its a decent move for the Liberals to disavow any knowledge of a coalition and veer left.  For the NDP its stupid and suicidal.  The NDP will never form a majority or minority government federally.  It is simply impossible.  The only hope for the NDP to ever get into government is with a Coalition.

So why haven't they been pushing the Coalition?  Its strange to me.  Who cares what Iggy has to say.  Jack could just talk about Coalition options, what they would do for socialism when in government etc..  Canadian voters have always been more strategic than loyal on the left.  True socialists suddenly supporting crony capitalists and limousine liberals in the Liberal Party is an entirely strategic shift.  Whatever is going on behind closed doors, these naive socialist voters have lost faith in a coalition and lost faith in the NDP.

Tactically, the NDP should be loudly trumpeting the Coalition.  Iggy is irrelevant and destined to be replaced sooner or later.  Jack may as well assume the figurehead of the Coalition.  If combined Liberal and NDP seats exceed the CPC through some tragedy, then wouldn't those socialist voters want the NDP to have a larger say in the Coalition?  More votes to the NDP mean more seats and a stronger position in an NDP-Liberal Coalition government.

Instead they let the Liberals eat their lunch yet again.  Its hilarious and incomprehensible.  Maybe they are just strategically clueless, but a better analogy keeps standing up in my mind.  I'm reminded of Joseph Stalin's position late in the non-aggression pact with Hitler.

During WW2 Hitler's National Socialist regime made a non-aggression pact with Stalin's Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.  Hitler's great double cross of invading the USSR was code named Operation Barbarossa.  As the Nazis built up hundreds of thousands of troops for the invasion, the British repeatedly cabled Stalin about the impending invasion.   He didn't believe them.  Anything coming from the British was a trick in Stalin's view.  Socialist idiot.  Stalin was even given the exact date of the invasion and didn't lift a finger to stop it.  Hitler even wrote about it a years prior in Mien Kempf.  Just how stupid do you have to be to call yourself a socialist?  The invasion was stupid, and the response to it was stupid.

The battle between the Grits and Dippers is Stupid on stupid.  It's reminiscent of the Nazis and Soviets.  The Conservatives in this analogy are the British.  The CPC has told everybody about the Coalition.  The only reason I can see that the NDP won't take advantage of a public Coalition stance is because it's the CPC exposing it.  Their hatred for the CPC blinds them.  They are content to be the biggest losers.  It doesn't matter to me either way, but I still shake my head and laugh at the NDP.

Another Corporate Tax Debate

Spin Assassin presents another added value debate on Corporate Tax Cuts with Amanda Lang and a CAW "economist."

Link

Liberals to Canadians: Take a Hike!

The Liberals, the Bloc, and the NDP, also known as the Coalition, want to raise taxes.  These "Tax Cuts" they are screaming about were actually passed in 2007 with their help.  There will be no Corporate Tax Cuts in the next budget.  The latest Tory Tax Cut took affect this month.

Liberals plan to raise corporate taxes back to 18%.  The NDP wants to go higher and the Bloc is happy to extort whatever it can.  They want the Conservative Budget to include new higher taxes or face an election.

We will go to the polls.  Socialists shall not raise taxes or implement new entitlements while this government has the writ.

Here are some things I expect a Coalition to impose:
  • Raise corporate taxes.  Those are taxes on your RRSP, TFSA, pensions, and other investments.
  • Raise the GST.  Remember their promises.  Remember their whining when it was cut.  How many thousands has the GST cut saved you over time?  $1000?  $2000?  $3000?
  • Abolish the TFSA
  • Return of the Green Shift and a Carbon Tax.
  • A National Childcare Service.  A new ever-expanding government behemoth to compete with current small businesses.  Comes complete with a new Union ready to take your life hostage.
  • Canadians will become 'have-nots' just like McDonkey's Ontario.
Lets not just stop the insanity.  Lets not even start it.  Lets kick the Socialist Coalition to the curb.  Its long overdue.

Monte Solberg Explains Tax Cuts to Socialists

They don't get it.  The Liberal flounders between arguments from the real Socialists and the real Conservatives.

This is a good start.  The Conservatives had better polish up on the fundamentals of economics and tax cuts because it will be tested in debate.  This is an argument we win when in full command of the subject.

Monte Solberg Explains Tax Cuts to Socialists

I'm pleased that Power and Politics made this segment called The Firing Line.  It comes complete with a bulls eye logo and the sound of cheesy gunfire.  Kudos.  The cloud over free speech since the Tuscon shooting has been lifted.  The Firing Line fits right in here at Spin Assassin.
