The Most Regulated Province In Canada.

Quebec?  I don't have time to write this article but I certainly would like to read it.  Which province has the most regulations and red tape?  My guess is Quebec though I only have anecdotal evidence to back up my perception.  Is there a measure we could come up with to fairly compare provinces and cities in terms of the legal hoops businesses have to jump through?  Can we measure government intrusiveness into our personal lives?

This should contrast nicely with Maclean's front page expose that Quebec is the most corrupt province in Canada.  Critics have said that there hasn't been a fair comparison between other provinces, so lets compare them.  I would also like to see a measure of corruption.  How corrupt are our cities and provinces and how do they compare to each other?

My Guess is that Quebec will win both distinctions.  Most corrupt and most regulated may very well correlate to each other.  More ridiculous rules mean more people will not care to follow them.  This could breed a culture of backroom under the table dealings that don't stop at small time rule braking.  If you want people to follow the law, the law had better make sense.

Call it gateway corruption.  It starts with some ridiculous ordinance that is selectively enforced and it ends with cash stuffed envelopes.

This is my theory.

Any enterprising journalists or bloggers care to test it?  If you don't you'll have to wait until I get around to writing it myself.  Please be fair.  I love Quebec and I don't want her unfairly tarnished.  Its important to acknowledge a problem if you want to solve it.

Meanwhile the Bloc strong armed parliament into a bill outside parliament's jurisdiction.  Free speech is not negotiable no mater what the HRC or the HOC thinks.  Sad and pathetic.  Would they do this for Alberta?  I think not.  Alberta should not be spared either.  Everyone should say what they have to say and its the merit and logic and veracity of those statements that shall be judged.  Its not important how offensive a statement is.  Its only important that it is true or false.

I will be renewing my subscription Maclean's now as well.  They need the money to fight for free speech.  I let my subscription lapse through the summer but its time to renew.  Get your copies here.

Election Debates

So I've got elections on the brain.  The biggest showdown outside of Election Day itself has got to be the Leaders Debate.  The 2008 debate was four against one.  Prime Minister Harper successfully defended himself and his government against the Leaders of the Liberal, NDP, Bloc, and Green Parties.  If you don't recall the debate too well it went something like the this video.

It may have struck you that the four so-called leaders who opposed Mr. Harper in the last election debate were the same ones who formed a Coalition Party to overturn that election.  The Coalition Party attempted to seize power outside of an election.  Even though Mr. Dion was ousted by the current leader, Mr. Ignatieff, the Coalition was still very much on the table.

Despite protestations that they are not in a Coalition, their constituent parties act as one to thwart the government.  They recently voted to keep the LGR in spite of its  useless function, high cost, and insult to the character and will of the public.

If the Coalition Party exists by way of a singed affidavit in 2008 and 2009, and it exists by way of the voting practices in the house, and it will exist again in the seconds after minority Conservative election win, I submit that the Coalition Party does in fact exist.

The Coalition should not have four representatives in a Leaders Debate.

We are now in a two party system.  Either the Conservative Party will get a majority or the Coalition Party will get a majority.  The era of minority governments will not survive the next election.  This is the last one.

Mr. Ignatieff should lead the Coalition Party and represent them in the leaders debate.  Mr. Ignatieff is responsible for marshaling the Coalition against their constituents and deserves the credit for it.  The Liberal Party will also make up the biggest chunk of the Coalition Party and therefore should lead it.

If hardcore left wingers don't like it then they should try to win their voters back.  There is no reason to strategically vote for the Liberals just to bring down the CPC.  Any vote for a left wing party is a vote for the Coalition.  Socialists who want their NDP to have a bigger role in a Coalition government rather than submit to the limousine Liberals should vote that way.

The lesser Coalition members will never want to give up their seats in the debate.  I never liked the crowded table format of the last debate anyway so I propose something different.  How about a series of four one-on-one debates of each leader against every other party leader.  There would be twenty debates in total and would allow each leader to fully articulate their positions and contrast them with the other leaders.

The five way brawl is just not useful.  It ends up as a battle of cheap one liners designed to get on the evening news.  It doesn't present arguments.  It diminishes politics as a whole in the eyes of all voters and generally does a disservice to Canada's democracy.

The leaders of the lesser parties would find their exposure elevated in a debate series that I described.  A busy person might only watch the four Harper debates to get what they need.  The final debate between Iggy and Harper would be the must see event.

I believe we have what it takes to get a majority government if we can only get the message to the people.  An election series will be more work, but its the right kind of work.  Signage and adds and the daily faux scandals in the media are no way to elect a government.  Voters are smart.  They want to make the right choice.  The forces of darkness of the left will use every dirty trick in the book and some that aren't.  Look at the race for Mayor of Toronto if you want a taste.  That's how its going to be except likely worse.  Signs and commercials won't do anything unless they are part of a larger strategy to plainly state our superior positions and track record.  The more chances we can do this the better.

Coalition Parties Force Their Irrational Will on the Public

Who is supreme?  Iggy asked us that once.  Today the Coalition Party was supreme.  They lorded their power over the people and their government in a disgusting move to keep the Gun Registry.

I saw it happen live.  I was at the gym.  I caught the last ten minutes of Power Play on CTV.  Fife was spreading rumors again that Conservatives are happy to lose the vote.  Why are they happy?  Oh its because of all the money they will get from people getting slapped across the face by the opposition.  Its all about the money right Fife?  Dooshbag leftard reporters couldn't get a story right if they lived it.  Then you had sad old Travers who himself was rebuked by His Supreme Eliteness, was just hoping that all this Gun Registry stuff would just go away.  Your team has ensured that it won't go away Travers.

I already knew that it wasn't going to pass but I still had the hope that somehow there would be enough votes to bring down the Gun Registry.  There was no miracle.  The registry survived.

Suddenly I stopped my cardio routine and went to weights.  Anger can be a fine motivator when correctly channeled to a constructive purpose.

Having dispensed with raw frustration, I'm left with more than a cold anger.  The creeping disquiet I've been feeling is suddenly in focus.  I am resolved to defeat the Coalition.  Canadians do not yet have a government.  The Conservative Party holds the writ but it is not able to serve the people so long as the Coalition holds the balance of power in the house.  We need an election.  I want an election.

The CPC does not want an election.  We know this because today's vote could have been a confidence motion.  Instead it was a private members bill.  I wouldn't want this to be the question we go to the polls for either.  No, the Gun Registry will be another item on the long list of things we need to change when we get a majority.

I am not the CPC however.  I am just a person.  I am a citizen doing my civic duty to make this country best place it can be.  I side with the CPC because they side with me, the individual.  Individual freedom is the heart of conservatism.  Its the reason why governments should be fiscally conservative.

From my lowly and humble vantage point as the smallest unit in this great achievement we call Canada, I declare the election has unofficially begun.  From this point I shall begin my war on the self-appointed Elites and their damned snobbish duplicity.  Join in the fun.  Start your election campaign today.  If you work at it I'm sure it will happen.  Its bound to happen.

Kick the Coalition to the Curb.  Vote Conservative and set Canada Free!

MSM Lies Openly about Gun Registry Politics

I have heard on several occasions in the last few weeks from the MSM that Conservatives will be happy that the Long Gun Registry failed to be scrapped.

Who do they cite?  Which MP specifically said that losing this vote will make him happy?  Is there a staffer at least that thinks this?  Is there any kind of recording or evidence anywhere of any kind that proves this?

No.  None.  This simply isn't true.

The MSM circulates lies in black and white on a daily basis.  Don Martin repeats this lie twice in his column titled: Tories thrilled by NDP’s rumoured saving of the gun registry in the National Post.  I've heard it elsewhere.  I've heard it from other journalists too and I think it was originally uttered as a joking strategic outcome metaphor from a pollster.

Don Martin says that Conservatives "are secretly pinching themselves with delight" due to the failing bill.  He also says that "Deep in the bowels of Conservative party backrooms, gleeful laughter can be heard from a government celebrating a defeat."

Since when Don Martin?  I could believe you'd skulk around deep backroom bowels, but narrating some fiction that Conservatives are happy about losing is just too far.  The rest of the piece is so thick with metaphorical storytelling that it takes several minutes to deconstruct his actual meaning and how it relates to his reality.

Elections are war.  Newspapers, pollsters and even some pathetic parties are election profiteers.  They are the ones who are laughing while taxpayer's money swirls the drain.  They are the ones giggling and cheering, not the government and certainly not the voter.   How many sports arenas would the cost of an election buy?  That's all OK with them.  Just another day at the office and nobody is laughing but the election profiteers.

Holy Smoke!

The preacher may have called off the Koran burning but Korans are burning on demand over at Youtube.  Its kind of an anticlimax but here they are.  It looks as though the 9th anniversary of 9/11 will be filled with hate from Muslims around the world.

On Burning Korans

Its probably not a good idea, but not big deal.  I'm not religious, so you could add other sacred books to that holy bonfire and it wouldn't bother me one bit.  You could add Darwin's outdated and revolutionary book to that fire and it still wouldn't bother me.

If fact I'm a little annoyed nobody wants to burn The Origin of Species anymore.  Maybe its because there are libraries and museums filled with observations, experiments and direct evidence of evolution.  Even Pope John Paul II conceded that evolution did occur.  You couldn't burn it if you tried.  Its written in the DNA of your very eyes.

I tried to read the Koran once.  On the very first page it said that I would burn in hell if I didn't accept the Koran as the literal word of God.  I'm not going out of my way to save this book from fire. While you all go out of your way to bend to the sacredness of this book, just remember it likely declares that you should burn too.

Sure. I would be upset if someone went around burning Canadian flags.  The difference is that Canada doesn't think anyone should burn for not being a Canadian.  Its quite the opposite in fact.    Our Prime Minister even defends this book from burning even though it condemns him as well and is incompatible with Canadian laws or morals.

Muslims are always upset at something anyway.   Its going to be painful, but they must be de-sensitized bit by bit.  How is burning a Koran different from drawing Mohamed?  They have to understand Allah and Mohammad are not important to many people.  Everyone deserves some basic respect, but they don't deserve to have their revered ideas equally revered by all because they revere them so much.
I'd rather we started burning some laws and acts and other useless and wasteful ordinances.

In fact their childish behavior at any perceived insult, even if its perpetrated by someone equally idiotic, is more reason to heap the offence higher.  It because of the death threats, honour killings, fatwas, jihads, effigy burnings, beheadings and all the rest that my heart has hardened towards Islam.  I don't care if they are offended.  Not one bit.

If it came down to living under Christianity or Islam, I'm with the Christians.  I'd sooner take the Cross myself than live one second under Islamic Sharia.  Look around.  Christians are good.  I'm not sure why God hides from me when He is so obvious to so many.  At least Christians of today will let me be.  At least they believe in freedom.

Happy Labour Day

The second best thing about Labour Day is celebrating the fact that Labour Unions are obsolete and irrelevant.  Minimum health and safety standards, working conditions and pay are protected by the government.  I'm glad I enjoy these basic privileges and privileges that far exceed the basics.  Its thanks to a free and open marketplace for work itself and my unique talents, qualifications and experience that allow me to enjoy the standard of living that I earn.

Effort, skill and determination fuels my optimism for the future.  I don't simply let the hours tick by to get ahead, I must produce more value for the company than I take for myself.  This is the only way for any organization to succeed.  Together we don't just succeed.  We Thrive!

The best thing about Labour Day is the Labour Day Classic.  Go Stamps Go!

Osama Bin Ladin is a Warmist?

Osama Bin Ladin, the evil mass murder at large, is concerned about Global Warming.  In January the fair and balanced Al Jazeera released a tape from the madman declaring the science is settled.  He says "climate change is not a matter of intellectual luxury — the phenomenon is an actual fact."  Al Gore could not have said it better himself.  "All of the industrialized countries, especially the big ones, bear responsibility for the global warming crisis," says the 9/11 mastermind.  Here's an AP video of it.

Bin Ladin joins the ranks of other accomplished progressives like Noam Chomsky.  He praises his colleague saying "Noam Chomsky was correct when he compared the U.S. policies to those of the Mafia. They are the true terrorists and therefore we should refrain from dealing in the U.S. dollar."

I suppose I was wrong in my last post.  Jason Lee, the Discovery Channel Gunman, was not the first Eco-terrorist.  They actually have a long history in tandem with the tamer Anti-Human environmentalists.

Certain warmists who read this should now have to eat their puke.  ;-)

Eco-Nut Attacks Discovery Channel

National Post reports that police have identified Jason Lee as the man who has taken hostages in the Discovery Channel Headquarters in Washington.  They say he's got "some sort of explosive device on his person.”

His demands have been posted at SaveThePlanetProtest.com .  They are clearly deranged and impossible for Discovery Channel to meet.  More insight into this Eco-path can be found in this comment thread I found over at The Blaze .

What we seem to have here is the first fundamentalist eco-terrorist.  The chickens have certainly come home to roost.  If you doubt the fruits of the green religion I'll give you some quotes of his demands.

"Saving the environment and the remaining species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.

The humans? The planet does not need humans. "
I like that one.   It would make PETA proud.

Remember what Greenpeace founder Patrick Moore had to say about today's environmentalism?  He said they are "Anti-Human."  The core their cults belief is that they hate humanity.  This has been said by people who should know and still largely ignored.  Lets see what our eco-terrorist has to say about the Human Race.

"Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution."

"All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs' places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it."

"Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious-cultural roots and greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population goes down! This is your obligation. If you think it isn't, then get hell off the planet! Breathe Oil! It is the moral obligation of everyone living otherwise what good are they??"

"Stop all shows glorifying human birthing on all your channels and on TLC."

I believe he may be an immigrant or at least child of an immigrant and he demands this:

"Immigration: Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and the anchor baby filth that follows that. Find solutions to stopping it. Call for people in the world to develop solutions to stop it completely and permanently. Find solutions FOR these countries so they stop sending their breeding populations to the US and the world to seek jobs and therefore breed more unwanted pollution babies. FIND SOLUTIONS FOR THEM TO STOP THEIR HUMAN GROWTH AND THE EXPORTATION OF THAT DISGUSTING FILTH! (The first world is feeding the population growth of the Third World and those human families are going to where the food is! They must stop procreating new humans looking for nonexistant jobs!)"

-And somehow Discovery Channel is supposed to accomplish this:

"Develop shows that will correct and dismantle the dangerous US world economy."
"You're also going to find solutions for unemployment and housing. All these unemployed people makes me think the US is headed toward more war."

And finally:

"Find ways so that people don't build more housing pollution which destroys the environment to make way for more human filth!"
It was only a matter of time.  We told you Anti-Human terrorists are going to start coming out.  Did you think you could fill peoples brains with  eco-mush and not have someone take it seriously?

The story is still unfolding so I'll have more for you when there is more.

Update: They shot him and nobody was hurt.  I hope he lives to talk about it.

My thoughts on Long Guns and other Firearms

First let me say that the failed Long Gun Registry has been going on for too damned long.  Scrap it.  Kill it.  Burn it.  Cut it into little pieces and force feed it to Liberal MP's.  This is why Liberals can never be allowed back in Government.  Their boondoggles take forever to clean up.  More money than I'll probably ever see in my life has gone into the cash bonfire known as the Long Gun Registry.  It doesn't do anything except burn money and Liberals just want to add more money to its dying embers.

Let me also say that I don't own a gun.  I don't want a gun, and I hope I never need a gun.  Guns are mounted on ships, planes and anything else that moves.  What is a long gun anyway?  I'm sure they mean rifles and shotguns.  I'm surprised the stupid Liberals that dreamt this up didn't call it a Boom Stick Registry.

I also don't want or need a firearm of any kind.  That is my personal choice.  Its a choice I want people to be free to make.  The Government does not exist to enforce my personal utopia on others.  Freedom for all is my utopia.

Let me tell you a story.

I learned to shoot at a government sponsored volunteer organisation called the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets.  I was out with them almost every day on one team or another including the range team.  While other kids were learning how to roll a joint, I learned the 10 Commandments of Firearm Safety.  We had to memorize them, and they are still with me.

Now fast forward 15 years.  I still can't help but think of the 10 Commandments of Firearms Safety as sacred gospel.

One of my friends, who was always kind of and idiot, suddenly started taking an interest in "guns."  He wanted to go hunting and join a gun club and generally feel cool about having a cool hobby.  The only problem is he is still an idiot.  I know that he could pass whatever tests and fill out the forms to get his rifle.  I remember him telling me that he knew a guy who could just sign the card for him and he would have his license.

The moment I heard this I realised that I could not be in the same room with this guy and a firearm.  I could not be in the same forest with this guy if he had a rifle.  When you get to know somebody, you get to anticipate their thoughts.  I just knew this guy would end up pointing a rifle at me.  Even if I took him aside and let him know how wrong this was, he would do it behind my back or in my sleep.

Never point a weapon at something you do not wish to kill.  This is not something I can tolerate.  This means that I choose to stay away from this guy and hope he only hurts himself.  Having issues with depression, this is a real possibility.

No registry is going to change this.

I take responsibility for my life.    The government still doesn't regulate who your friends are.   If one of my friends turns from a harmless idiot into a dangerous idiot, its up to me to do something about it.  The Government can't won't and shouldn't try to solve my problems.  Its collective punishment for a small number of idiots.  The government doesn't even enforce its current laws adequately.

The Liberal answer is to throw money at useless red tape.  Its whole strategy is to appear to be doing something while really doing nothing.  Whats really sick is when they hold up tragic cases to further their policy charade.  We have to bury these guys at the polls.  I don't want a single Liberal left in all of parliament.
