Scientist Claims Earthquakes Caused by Gobal Warming

Hilarious!  We were expecting this.  If prostitution could be caused by Global Warming then what couldn't be?  My next bet is that the American Dental Association will claim that plaque and gingivitis are caused by Global Warming.

How did anything happen before Global Warming?  Genesis will have to be rewritten.  Here goes:  In the beginning there was Global Warming.  Then God said: "Let there be Socialism."  Then there was Socialism, and it was good.

Ok I can't have too much fun without providing the link.  Here it is courtesy of CBS news.  The warmist is Dr. Tom Chalko, whom I thank for today's deep belly laughs.

The interesting part is that I don't necessarily dispute that there might be uptick in geologic activity lately.  Connecting this to the Theory of Global Warming however is more than absurd.

update: not much of an update since this is a couple of years old already, but still funny.  I honestly haven't heard of it until yesterday.   Watts Up With That has a great article about it.

Here are some cool pics of the Volcano in Iceland.  Boy.  When Nature "pollutes" she doesn't mess around.

You know it's a bad day for climate science when climate scientists start to sound like Iranian Imams.

Moreover, is that lightning coming out of that ash cloud? I gotta go to Iceland and see this thing.

Oh man I'd love to go there and see it first hand.

Don't you understand, everything causes global warming. That's the point. Being happy causes global warming.

Are they trying to scuttle this theory or what? This is getting off the charts stupid.

That's an old report but interesting...a little backstory here from the time.

Thanks Badbeta. I will update my post.

It sounded crazy to me at first, but the guy does refer to observable scientific stuff. What's so implausible about this?:

"NASA measurements from space confirm that Earth as a whole absorbs at least 0.85 Megawatt per square kilometer more energy from the Sun than it is able to radiate back to space. This 'thermal imbalance' means that heat generated in the planetary interior cannot escape and that the planetary interior must overheat. Increase in seismic, tectonic and volcanic activities is an unavoidable consequence of the observed thermal imbalance of the planet," said Dr. Chalko.

I'm astounded anon1152. Read some geology. 0.5 degrees or 30 degrees wont do anything to the interior of the earth at all. Earthquakes and volcanoes take no input from the atmosphere at all.

Now I enough about radiation to get by but I do know that Nasa's claims about satilite readings have been dispute and yes they have had to retract those claims. I can't keep track of it all, so try this http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/12/26/satellite-measurements-prove-our-quiet-sun-is-cooling-the-upper-thermosphere/

Actually I just looked up the global average temperature gradient. Its 2.6 degrees per 100 meters. Local variations can differ wildly due to thermal conductivity of the formation. So anyway, I've had measurements taken that were 200 degrees at approximately 2000 meters in any weather.

Next they'll want to try "tax" volcanoes if they can find a way to "ban" or "regulate" them first.

why not? they're already trying/tried to "regulate","stop" and even "tax" global warming.

It's alright by them though, it's all Bush's fault anyway.
