Stephen Harper and I

Stephen Harper has been the best Prime Minister of Canada in my memory.  These have have been the best 10 years of my life.  It wasn't Stephen Harper that made them great but I must acknowledge the man who created the conditions for that to happen.

The GST cuts alone have put thousands of dollars where they belong: in my pocket.  If you bought a house, car or some other big ticket item you can count your savings in the thousands as well.  I'm thankful for the TFSA and the UCCB.  These are things that affect my family directly and I will always respect and appreciate the consideration the Harper Government has shown us.

If Stephen Harper were a monarch I would have called him Harper The Trader.  I'm still amazed at the deals Harper's team was able to reel in.  A trade deal with Europe and another with the nations of the Pacific as well as many others are golden geese that the Harper Conservatives can be most proud of.

Canada's position in a world of turmoil and evil demonstrated courageous morals and emotional discipline.  We can be proud of our clear support for Israel and against Russian aggression.  I'm proud of our humanitarian efforts in the world despite opportunist claims to the contrary.

I used to think of Harper as the accidental Prime Minister.  It seemed so unlikely.  Here we are after almost 10 great years.  How unlikely that he turned out to be the best of them all.  I'm glad he didn't take a walk in the snow.  Stephen Harper ended his tenure as Prime Minister the same way he started it and practiced it; fighting all the way.

 The Economist PM was always a hard sell.  It was never about him honestly.  Conservative voters wanted policies based on values and economics.  Stephen Harper was the delivery man, never the package.  Yet. after all the Minority Years, the Coalition Crisis and even terrorist attacks, I've come to both love and admire this unlikely hero Stephen Harper.

That democratic pendulum has swung ferociously back to the natural governing party now.  There is an eerie symmetry in the accidental Prime Minister being replaced by someone who was born to be one.  These are silver linings of a very dark cloud, but I see hope in Trudeau's easy win.  If Trudeau was aiming at Harper he's managed to hit Mulcair between the eyes.  That's where strategic voting gets you.  Liberals with their shiny pony PM and their majority will have no excuses now.

Conservatives may have lost the mantle of power but Stephen Harper's record is one we can all be proud of.  The Conservative party never had a divine right to govern.  The privilege Canadians have assigned them is of the Loyal Opposition.  It's a job Conservatives, including lowly MP Stephen Harper, are ready and eager to do.

Justin Trudeau is Afraid of Foreign Policy

Its a glaring example of media bias that last week Trudeau's Liberals started making excuses on skipping the Munk Foreign Policy Debate there was barely a squeak.

Trudeau's cowardly excuses were presented at face value when reported at all.  The Liberal War room's "demands" were repeated verbatim by the media and would have been labeled plagiarism if it occurred outside of an election.

Their excuses were:

1. The debate was not french enough.
2. The debate had ticket prices of $90 and are not available to the public.

That's it.  The Liberals will pull out of an important and prescient foreign policy debate just 21 days before a federal election and those are the reasons.

Should have blamed the dog.  I'm serious.  The dog ate my foreign policy debate would only be slightly less credible an excuse.  At least call in sick.  "Sorry Justin has a nasty hair-ache and won't be able to make it tonight."

Let's take a minute to dismantle these flimsiest of evasions before we tackle the real reasons Justin doesn't want to be in this debate.

First, the debate is not french enough.  The original press release mentions "french components" on stage and full french and english live video online and through CPAC nationwide. So this obliterates both objections right off the top.  100% of the debate is available to 100% of Canadians in both languages.  

Of course the former substitute drama teacher Trudeau wants to play his Dartanion role in the "on stage" french components as much as possible.  It's really about Justin.  A french language translator of english Justin just doesn't have the same screen affect as Dartanion.  The Liberals are desperate to take a bite out of the NDP in Quebec or they are hopelessly lost.  Trudeau absolutely needs to be seen in french or he's already lost the debate if not the whole election and the leadership of the party.

Next we have the ticket price.  The same Munk debate press release says the tickets are from $30 - $90, not $90.  The nose bleeds are probably $30 and the front row is $90, similar to any hockey game or concert.  You can also watch for free at home.  Who do the Liberals think they are fooling with this?  Even the biggest Trudeau fan knows that $90 for a front row seat to a potentially historic debate is a steal.  The Munk Debates aren't planning to break even according to their response to the Liberal dodge.  Its a charity funded event.  Nobody is making a profit from this.  Tickets went on sale to the public on Friday.  What is the problem?

The problem again is Justin.  Let's face it, Justin Trudeau is weakest on foreign policy.  From his flippant jokes about the invasion of Ukraine to the juvenile wise cracks about our mission against ISIL Justin consistently underscores his incompetence on this file.

When an ISIS inspired terrorist attacked parliament and killed a soldier, Justin (and I hope he was joking in poor taste here) implied he would run to the terrorist unarmed instead of running away. When terrorists kill children, athletes and spectators and then go on a rampage across Boston Justin's biggest concern is for the poor little terrorist who might have had some sad feelings.  We see this again and again from Trudeau from every angle.

Trudeau is not up to this debate on foreign policy.  He's afraid he's going to look exactly as he is: unready, and unfit to lead a country.

That is the real reason why the Liberals seek to pull out of the Munk Debate on Foreign Policy.  There is more downside for Liberals to showing up than dodging.  There is so much downside that looking like an inept coward is preferable to his marketing team. That's seriously bad.  One way or another, this debate could be what finally breaks the Liberal Party forever.

Implications of the Alberta Election on Federal Politics

I've read most of the pundits opining on the Alberta election and the NDP.  Many of them are spot on. More than a few of them are the sort of fantasy wish that projects phoney conclusions onto real events.  They get away with it because nobody can test their opinions before the Federal Election and after the election it will all be forgotten.

It's disappointing however that none of the professional talkers and opinion makers actually considered the real implications federally.  Conservatives were not punished Tuesday night.  They, the Wildrose, were rewarded.  Progressives took a thrashing for their progressive governing.

The first myth is that the election has no implication on the federal scene.  This is a bipartisan belief but stems from different viewpoints.

On the left they don't want to get their hopes up at least not too high.  Many on the left are already emotionally invested in Trudeau and the idea that "Angry Tom" could beat their Dartanion is anathema because Harper is also a big meanie in their sad little heads.  The script is set.  It will be personality and charisma vs experience and success.  They may not put it that way but that's what it will be.  Mulcair being experienced and lacking charm interferes with this scheme.  Mulcair's place is to lose badly and pave the way for boy Trudeau.

On the right the fears aren't so nuanced.  They fear an orange wave exactly like the one in Alberta.  Nothing is impossible.  There are scenarios where this could happen but they belong in the realm of Black Swan events.  Everyone recognizes this and immediately dismisses any relevance of the Alberta election to Federal politics.

They are both wrong though.  This does have implications for Federal Politics.

The Federal NDP have been written off almost from the moment Jack Layton departed.  Everyone saw the last Federal Election where NDP surged in Quebec.  It was both a rejection of the Bloc and a sympathetic gesture to smiling Jack Layton.  Mulcair has none of that going for him.  All things equal the Orange Wave of 2011 should experience a neep tide.  Those seats would presumably going to the Liberals in 2016.

But hang on.  Is that really going to happen?  The biggest single factor will be the NDP themselves.  Alberta's NDP win was a needed shot in the arm.  A confidence boost that will propel them to at least try to keep all those seats.  I'm sure a few more votes will flow their way as a result of this weeks events.  As long as they are kept from Justin Trudeau it's a very good thing.  We have the makings of an excellent brawl on the left.  All the NDP has to do is show up.

Now look at Alberta next October.  Don't discount the confusion between the federal Conservative Party and the defunct Alberta Progressive Conservative Party.  Its a confusion enemy pundits are all too willing to exploit especially while Prentice was around.  It's "Tory" this and "Tory" that and the sad retort "they aren't Tory's" is all but vanished now.  It's a shame.

I have an uncle in Ontario who has a nice TTC pension now.  You can imagine the debates we have.  He would bring up all kinds of nasty things Mulroney and the rest did and I could join in with him and say "this is a totally different Conservative Party, we turfed all those assholes and good riddance."  Wildrose gets to do that now.  Everyone should trash Progs at every level whenever possible.

I still meet people who drift from federal to provincial politics in the same conversation without quite grasping the real separation.  Progressives have been giving Conservatives a bad name for far too long.  It's nice to have another fragment of the old PC franchise out of the picture.

Notley's honeymoon should be over by summer.  I predict that nothing will be fixed.  Special interests are publicly lining up for their due already.  The Government will grow larger at an even faster rate while taxes and economic uncertainty will take their toll.  The palpable anxiety of the producer class can only grow in this environment.  How will those voters perceive the liability of a Trudeau or Mulcair government?  I think you know the answer, but note how many of these wise pundits are willing to lead you to it.

This should coincide nicely with Ontario's Liberal fatigue.  If Conservatives are still worried then that is good too.  It's great in fact.  My observation of the CPC is that it seems to perform better when the Party is scared.    Confidence and forthrightness should not be allowed to drift into deadly arrogance.  Honesty and humility as well should be the watchwords of every minister.  Nobody thinks you are perfect, so don't pretend.  Don't try to pull a fast one on voters.  Conservative voters are the savviest out there and they see and understand everything.   Next fall its going to be: here's our record; here's our plan; here's an axe and here's our necks; is there anything else we can do for you Sir/Madam?

Could Opposition Policy on ISIS Draw Attacks on Canadians?

On March 11th 2004 Al Qaeda killed 191 people and injured 1800 others in Madrid Spain.  10 homemade bombs were detonated in passenger trains almost simultaneously.  The bombs exploded via cell phone trigger while 4 more were discovered unexploded.   

This was perpetrated just 3 days before the Spanish General Election.  Spain was a country divided at the time over joining the second Iraq war.  The terrorist attack was a key event in the election and toppled the ruling party for a socialist party who advocated withdrawing from the Iraq.

It was a master stroke for the Islamists.  Al Qaeda could never have removed the Spaniards from the Iraq war by force of arms.  Instead they managed to remove Spain with 10 bombs targeting civilians on their own soil and turned an election.  Diabolical evil.

10 years later we find ourselves in Canada approaching a situation similar to Spain's.  An election looms in the near future and the Harper Government is compelled to enter a war in Iraq.  Also similarly the parties are divided about the war.  The Harper Government supports direct, though minimal, military intervention against ISIS.  The opposition socialist parties if elected would withdraw that support. 

This is in contrast to other anti-ISIS coalition members.  European countries who are arguably both more socialist and "progressive" than Canada have voted unanimously in their democratic houses to fight ISIS.  Here the NDP and Liberals are focused on election politics and have tried to use the ISIS threat as a wedge issue.  On the question of sending a miniscule force to engage the most brutal and bloodthirsty army since the Nazi terror our House voted 157 - 134 in favor. 

As we know that same House of Parliament was attacked by ISIS last week.  The so-called "lone wolf" was ideologically identical to the terrorist army we are currently at war with.  The murderer would have surely gone to Iraq to fight with ISIS if not for his passport being withheld.  The terrorists Satanic sacrifice on our National War Memorial and the cold premeditated attack on our uniformed soldier earlier in the week are a clear message to Canadians from ISIS. 

There certainly seems to have been an uptick in terrorism towards Canada since the war on ISIS began.  The twin attacks last week were followed by a threat on our Embassy in Turkey for example.  We'll have to stay vigilant for more of the same. 

ISIS has named Canada several times in its threats as well as other countries.  The major difference between Canada and its allies is that our involvement in the war against ISIS pivots on the outcome of next year's election.  Canada is the only country made vulnerable by its opposition parties this way.

ISIS currently does not have the means to knock our CF-18s out of the sky.  The only way to remove our 6 CF-18s from the battle space is politically.  Through terrorism ISIS can turn Carl von Clauswits on his head.   For ISIS politics is a continuation of war by other means.

Conservatives are right about Trudeau

Trudeau got himself back in the spotlight yesterday.  Legacy media outlets pumped up the supposedly scandalous profanity while simultaneously asking why its a scandal at all and praising his use of commoner vulgarity. 

All of it is actually kind of funny if you've learned to parse Media Party's propaganda.  They know trouble when they see it and instinctively they were running cover for their dear Shiny Pony.  That is perfectly fine with me.  By pushing the profanity angle in the hope of a Ford Nation type public approval they also draw attention to what else Trudeau said.

How Trudeau thinks of himself is by far the more interesting aspect of his vulgar speech. 

"Not your name, your fortune, your intelligence, your beauty; none of that fucking matters."

While everyone obsesses about a vulgar, semi-taboo, ultra cliché, adverb that we've all resorted to at some point, take a look at the actual meaning of the sentence.  Trudeau is talking about himself in a boxing ring.  He's listing all of the things he thinks he's got going for him.

"Your name."  Trudeau's name is all of Trudeau.  No one thinks for a second that if his name was Bieber or Timberlake that he would have even been considered for Liberal Leader let alone Prime Minister.

"Your fortune."  Trudeau inherited a fortune.  He's never known hardship.  He's never worried about bills and taxes.  He's never cared where the next paycheck will come from.  This is what allows him to say things like "The Budget will balance itself."  Trudeau has never had to balance a budget.  They always just balanced themselves. 

"Your intelligence."  I'm not going to say Trudeau is a stupid person.  He may have some stupid ideas but the reason we are examining his words is to better understand boy Trudeau.  His intelligence is irrelevant even if it isn't that great.  The key here is that Trudeau thinks he is intelligent.  He thinks he's intelligent enough to subconsciously rank it third in his internal list of super qualities.  I would say that he thinks he's very intelligent.  Who in his circle will tell him otherwise?  Most of us have empirical evidence of our intelligence in our finances.  Trudeau has no such source of humility and is set to overreach. 

"Your beauty."  He's right.  He is good looking but Trudeau is also a vain man.  It's unbecoming for women to talk about their own beauty.  When a man does it, stomachs turn.   Trudeau is very much aware of his "beauty" and considers it one of his main strengths as a politician.

Then on Monday Marissa Simkew, a gorgeous Sun News journalist, asked Trudeau a hard question.  She wanted to know exactly who are the "middle class" that Trudeau talks about so much.  He didn't know.  He made some generalization about people who work for a living so Miss Simkew asked again saying "I'd like a number."  At this point Trudeau stared off into oncoming headlights and said "...like a number..." 

I imagine many of you reading this are thinking he said "...like a number..." as in "...like a number...what's a number?"  I saw it differently.  He was thinking phone numbers.  There was Trudeau yesterday on the very edge of cracking a joke about Miss Simkew wanting Trudeau's phone number.  Trudeau's entitled and arrogant foolishness took him right to the precipice of another disaster to which he only narrowly and dimly averted.  That is who we are dealing with.  By his own account he has confirmed everything we thought we knew about him.

This is why it pays to truly understand your enemy.  Understanding how a narcissistic trust fund boy like Trudeau thinks of himself is the key to his entire personality and decision process.  Lucky for us its actually pretty easy when it comes to Trudeau. 

How stark is the comparison with The Right Honourable Stephen Harper.  Every legacy media opinion pusher has a new Theory of Harper each week.  Harper is Richard Nixon.  Harper is Mike Duffy.  Harper is Rob Ford.  Harper is Vladimir Putin.  I'll give you one guess who Harper is today.  Right.  Harper is Kathleen Wynne.  I won't bother pointing you to it.  I read it in the same paper by the same author who yesterday said Harper was Dalton McGuinty. 

It hardly matters who they think Stephen Harper is today or tomorrow.  The point is they do not understand Stephen Harper.  They do not understand because they refuse to understand.  The Media Party is projecting rather than observing.  Understanding Stephen Harper means accepting the worst case scenario for the Media Party.  Stephen Harper is not only the best, most skilled, most competent and genuine Prime Minister in the history of Confederation but very likely the best we will have for many years to come.

This is why we win.  Some people will only see it once its lost.  I'm confident they will stay blind for a long time yet.

The General's Last Move

Nobody has been able to answer the single most important question about Andrew Leslie's exorbitant moving expenses.  What on earth costs $72,000 to move a few blocks?

Did he need to unearth a terracotta army and bury it at the new location?  So what was it then?

I'm sure every tax paying citizen recognizes that this is just too much to stand whatever the reason.  Faced with a move that would cost Seventy Two Grand most Canadians would find another way or take the loss. Entitled Ottawa elites however just send us the receipt.

Andrew Leslie is probably an honorable enough man.  He is also angling for the job of Minister of Defense.  A Defense Minister has to oversee troop movements a heck of a lot farther away than a couple of affluent blocks in the Nation's Capitol.  Why can't he tell us what went wrong with his move?  How did it end up being so expensive?  It was nearly double the 2nd highest all time moving expense claim (and even that ones gets me angry.  $42,000!  What the hell!).

And what are we to make of a man who calls the genuine concern of a taxpayer like myself a "partisan attack".

How dare we little racing rats question a man with such a gilded resume?  He would make a fine non-liberal Liberal Senator wouldn't he?  Generals and Senators can do no wrong you know.  He's faced down a fearsome enemy with real bullets (an enemy that remains in place after 13 years) and made six healthy figures doing it.  That really is amazing.  Who said you'll never strike it rich serving in the military?  Maybe Corporal Tremblay?

Oh?  Was that an attack?  Is there a lie in it somewhere?  Because the truth is a potent weapon.  Go ahead.  Knock us down with the truth about the move.  We can handle the truth.

It's the old entitlement showing its face again.  No please or thank you.  -Just pay in 90 days or pay more.  It's tax time again, and with Tax Freedom Day far off behind I'm not really interested in the wealthy former general's poor feelings.

Its up to Leslie to help us understand.  The public supports the Military and in no small part thanks to the efforts of the Harper Government.  We have open minds.  Tell us.  There have already been suggestions of kickbacks or at best incompetence.  Silence only reinforces the idea there is something wrong.  Leslie claims that everything was legit, so what's the problem with the details then eh?

Look I support the military more than anyone I know.  I do not worship them.  I do not revere them.  So excuse me if I share the secret.  Armed forces members and veterans are still just people.  There are good ones and bad ones.  There are real heroes, traitors and even some brutally evil bastards too.  Its hard to compare them to priests and teachers or doctors and scientists, many of whom aren't paid what they are worth, but we already know the truth about all of them.  We know that while some people are strong others are weak and fallible. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of hat they wore at some point.  It's wrong to say that a person in a uniform is beyond reproach simply because of that uniform.

It's not like the press is going to do any reproaching.  Here we see the hypocrisy of the media clearly.

Remember the hoopla disseminated when a Senator repaid to taxpayers some $90,000 of a private individual's money?  The damning part of the "scandal" being that Harper allegedly commanded that the right thing be done.  In reality the person who did the right thing was terminated for doing the right thing wrong along with the people who did the wrong thing in the first place.  Go back and read the many varied opinion pieces just dripping with venom and hatred at the time.  Now a Liberal candidate is found taking a similar amount from taxpayers.  Its an old fashioned liberal style cash grab and all we get is excuses from the same Band of Butt-lickers.

No wonder Leslie didn't make the cut.  It turns out he tried to get on the Conservative slate first.  Imagine how this would have been portrayed by the media if Leslie were a Conservative?  The Media party would freak.  I'm glad the system worked.  Leslie went where he belongs.: to the party that sees public office as a lottery that pays out on election day.  The Liberals can keep him, but I want my money back.

Media Party Retaliates with Attack Columns

I dispute the whole concept of Attack Ads.  The establishment punditocracy have fabricated the idea that any political ad that is critical of a rival is an attack.  It is no more an attack than any political column ever written by Andrew Coyne.

Coyne writes his opinions, and those opinions are always negative towards the Conservative Party.  In fact I don't remember him ever writing a kind word.  If he has he can't be much good at it, since nobody else remembers either.

"Attack Ads Are Political Deathstars But Their Target is Democracy" reads the title of Coyne's latest attack.  I know Attack Editors write Attack Headlines but they coordinate their attacks with Attack Hacks so that the Attack Columns shut down all thought and Democracy.

It has been widely shown that media in fact has a huge negative impact on the functioning of democracy.  They can tell a bald faced lie and then quietly correct it when no one is watching.  They do it all the time.  Think of Robocalls.  Think of Communion Wafers.  Think of Benghazi.  Think of Global Warming.  Even the Vietnam War was lost on television, not the battlefield.  

I'm not saying this should change.  I'm saying that a great amount of power resides in an un-elected and unaccountable media.  They don't just act irresponsibly with this power but with outright open malice towards one side of the political spectrum in particular.

Why didn't any of these media experts notice the positive things in the ads?   Can you not say anything about your opponents in politics?  They invented the idea of Attack Ads so you think they would have a formula worked out for how negative they can be.  What is the acceptable percentage of opinions related to the opposing party should be allowed? Is it 25%?  Is 51% an official attack ad?  How would you measure this? -by the second or by the word?  Do printed words carry more weight than spoken words?  What do images count for?  What does music count for?  I found the music for the latest ads light and comical.  The music was decidedly positive beyond any doubt.  Whats so aggressive about comedy anyway? 

The CPC ads weren't all that negative or even attacking really.  Mocking is the word.  But Coyne is downright nasty and purposefully so on a regular basis.

"-they are corrosive. Their intent is not merely to criticize, but to inflame. They’re not trying to provoke thought, but to shut it down."

Corrosive?  Does he read his own work? Caustic!  And where exactly did he divine the intent of the ads?  If Coyne actually does read minds he still lies about it.  He can't even imagine that the ads might have been made as amusement.  Why do people tell jokes Sour Puss?  Do you even know?

Anyway, even more grounded writers also seemed to miss the mark.  

Chris Selley thinks the ads contain a lie.  Trudeau is out of context when talking about Quebec we are told.  The fact is Trudeau put words into his father's mouth as if he approved of it.  Another fact is that it doesn't matter who said it, its still a stupid thing to say.  So where then is the lie?  Trudeau Junior is constantly invoking the Senior.  Constantly!  Even his letter to the Chinese asking for temporary workers mentions it.  He is Liberal Leader because of it.  Trudeau was telling that story because he was proud of it. Or is he just stupidly trampling his father's name?

Jonathan Kay, who is sometimes friendly to the CPC, wrote about the ads too.  The gist of the article is: "Is that all you got?"  Come again?  Were you expecting the Battle of Endor?  Yub nub!  The election is 2 bloody years away.  There is plenty of material and Trudeau is a gaffe machine too. You really think Truedeau's welcome card should have been an orgasmic explosion?  

Kay also says the adds are "lame."  Yes, there were no exploding spaceships and I don't think there are going to be any.  One Coalition Crisis is enough for a lifetime.  This is Canadian Politics after all and lame is actually good.  Nice and harmless.  We can all share the joke that is the Shiny Pony.

Just today we learned that Trudeau wants to get empathetic and cozy with poor murderous Boston Marathon Bomber.  At best its an unforced error.  Its what these ads are trying to tell people.  That is the intent of the ads: Jr. hasn't got a clue!

You almost get the sense he was pushed into it.  He was obliged to lead the Liberals seeing how low they are now.  Didn't his wife say it was his duty or something?  There are plenty of stories where the prince runs away to be something else.

Trudeau Jr. should have gone into entertainment.  Ben Mulroney has more sense than hapless Trudeau.  Ben knows full well that in politics he would have been in his father's large inky shadow for decades.  Shiny Pony invokes that shadow at every opportunity   Shamefully so.  There's no "did you know Ben Mulroney is former Prime Minister Mulroney's son?"  That never ever happens with the Dauphin.

Drop Progressive from Conservative Parties

Its time for a name change for parties that sport Progressive in their titles but are actually conservative.  Sorry.  Liberals and Socialists have taken up Progressive as one of their key words.  It matters.  Whenever the electorate begins to realize what socialists are all about, they change the name and keep the ideology.

This is why Socialists became Liberals and now Liberals are Progressives.  Its more palatable they think.  I know what was meant by Progressive when applied to Conservatives.  The route word is progress while its anything but.  Now progressive is about the progress of bigger and bigger government.  Its about progress of the laws over people who follow them and coddling for people who don't.  Its the same way that Liberals are liberal with spending good peoples money.  The classical liberal is gone and so is the progressive.  They are all just socialists.

Do you doubt me?  Good.  Google Progressive.   Here is what you see when the Liberal Party shows up.

The Liberal "blog" goes out of its way to use the word progress and its derivatives in every post.  "..The summer progresses..., ...we are making progress...'' etc...  You might not want to drop your P word yet but they are obviously moving in on it. 

Lets ask Alf Apps, Liberal Party President, what he thinks Liberals are:




The Alberta PC's can keep Progressive.  They are more progressive than conservative.  The rest of you PC's had better think long and hard about what progressive means and what its coming to mean.  Do you really want to be socialist conservatives?  Its not about progress.

What I like about Liberals

What I like about Liberals is that they are Canadians first and Liberals second.  This is a key similarity between Liberal and Conservative and of vital importance in this election.  In the grand scheme of things Conservatives aren't much different from John Manley Liberals.  We believe in Free Markets and Strong Economies.  We believe that government has a regulatory role that is best kept to a minimum.  Government is not a player but a referee.  The less we see of the referees, the better the game.  So it is with Capitalism. 

When John Manley was Finance Minister many years ago the Liberal Party was in its glory days.  Here is John Manley espousing Conservative ideals earlier this year.

I believe the country is facing a great turning point in this 41st election.  Canada has had a long line of crisis from American invasions as in the War of 1812 to World Wars to the FLQ crisis and the Quebec Referendum.  Each time we have come perilously close annihilation or disintegration and each time we prevail. 

This election is about preventing the conditions that lead to such upheavals.  An NDP coalition government will generate an economic collapse.  Their very promises including 70 billion in new spending and balancing the budget by 2014 should raise alarm bells in any thinking person.  There will have to be massive tax increases and expropriations in order to balance that equation.

Crushing taxes and a stalled economy will personally cost each of us many thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars before its over.  While an electoral hammer in time can be brought down on them, the NDP and their Bloc partners will loot the treasury while we are distracted by the drama of reopening the constitution.

I can imagine the dismay of Liberal supporters at the prospect of an NDP coalition government.  The Liberal Leadership is a travesty and has been so for many years now. They have slowly whittled away trust and support by jumping in front of every craze to come along, even when its at odds with their own basic beliefs. First it was the Green Shift and their anti-Alberta campaign and then they go even further left to try scoop up the socialist kooks at the outliers of society.

Its a poor and transparent strategy that has been rejected by the target voters in favor of true socialists, the NDP.  Centrist John Manley Liberals must be left feeling dirty and betrayed.  Not only does their party no longer support their ideals, but their best hope lies in simply fooling socialists into helping them win the government.  What folly.

All is not lost however.  You only need to look to the Conservative movement today for hope.  Correctly chastised by voters the PC Party was obliterated.  The rump of the PC's hung on for far too long before finally joining the Canadian Alliance.  Now the Conservative Party is Canada's best hope for the sparkling future we all want and deserve.

I want to ask you centrist Canadians to temporarily lend the Conservative Party your vote.  These past 5 years have been pretty good all things considered.  The next 4 will be even better.  You don't have to love the Conservative Party as many do, you just need to hold your nose and vote.  Your country needs you.  Your family and your neighbors need you.  We Conservatives need you.  All Canadians need you to vote Conservative.

This is not a hockey game.

The result of this election will impact your personal finances in the short and long term.  Its too important a decision to just be a partisan rah rah go team thing.  You can still be a Liberal in fact.  Nobody knows how you vote unless you tell them.  Why be ashamed of your freedom anyhow?  Send them a message.  No more goofy antics with the fate of the country.  No more haughty imported finger wagging elites unconnected to your real concerns let alone the country's.

Vote Conservative on May 2nd and tell them about it.  Nothing inspires change faster than temporarily losing a loyal supporter.  That is how democracy really works.  That is a lesson Micheal Ignatieff and the people who appointed him need to learn.  You'll get 4 years to rebuild the brand and a stable and prosperous country in the meantime.

Vote for Canada and the Conservative Party.

The Calgary East all Candidates Debate

Yesterday I attended the all Candidates Debate in Calgary East.  I'm not going to do an actual report as if it was anything more than a mickey mouse version of the leaders debate.  It was however entertaining to watch politics in action and witness the local media coverage and spin.

The only agency to cover the debate was Global Calgary.  I'll get to the expected media bias of the actual segment but it seemed to me that the programming editor arranged to have nobody at all see it.  I don't really ever watch Global Calgary so I can't really say if it's normally so off-putting.

The big story of the day was the weather.  Snow!  Somebody snapped a picture of a bird in the snow.  Awe.  They came back to the story 6 or 7 times over the hour.  I wasn't counting.  The debate segment was right at the end of the hour.  It was right behind a story about a lady who didn't like her sofa.  I'm not kidding.  Who will pay for the sofa?  The lady doesn't like it.  It wobbles.  It sinks too deep.  Wow.  Anyone still watching by this point must have been on the phone or in the bathroom.

Finally, the debate coverage!  What was covered?  A ruckus caused by an unkempt and disheveled heavy set man at the back.  Him and a co-ordinator for the seniors hall sitting next to him could not keep quiet during Deepak Obhria's opening remarks.  The co-ordinator would let out load moans and sighs while the unkempt man was more vocal.

"My ears hurt!" He was shouting over our MP.  "Let him speak." Others were saying.  He also said that the Deepak's statements were "pressing him into his seat."  He felt like "his chair would soon fall over backwards."  Three rows ahead of the man, I felt no such effect. 

That was it.  Global didn't show any of that.  They showed arguing.  Its amazing to me that there can be a dispute about being quiet during opening remarks of a debate but there you have it.  The controversy according to Global.  Nobody is watching anyway.

The rest of the debate was very silly.  The various antics of the opposition staff had me tempted to throw a word grenade  of my own into the mix, but I still have honour.  I'm a partisan.  I want to hear the people speak... in between the antics of the desperate partizan's in the room.     

The NDP candidate was pretty entertaining. He said voting NDP "is like playing baseball."
"Sometimes you hit a home run.  Sometimes you have to take one for the team."
I will hit my home runs for me and I won't be taking one or ten for any NDP team, thanks. 

He also said that Jack Layton was from Toronto, making him especially attuned to the needs of Calgary East.

He would pull our troops out of Afghanistan and somehow return to "when Canadians stood like Giants of peacekeeping."

He said he would not stop the Tar sands but impose a Cap and trade carbon tax and raise corporate taxes to 19% .  Then he complained about gas prices ans oil subsidies, as if NDP promises would make gasoline cheaper.

You get the feeling the NDP will say anything and knows nothing.

The Liberal lectured the audience on the structure of the UN a if we were in her class and then later called Conservatives "reckless teenagers."  Standard stuff.  She did get quite a laugh from the crowd when she claimed Liberals would get a majority in this election or the next.  It is pretty funny.

The Greens did a lot of talking but nobody is listening.

Deepak Obhria was himself.  He is a seasoned campaigner of 14 years.  He laid out the familiar Conservative vision of a safe and strong economy.  He also warned against the Coalition.  On the question of the UN seat Deepak masterfully shot down the Liberal by saying "we will not compromise Canadian values for the sake of a security council seat."  Many general assembly votes in the corrupt UN belong to autocratic dictators like Colonel Gaddaffi or Mubarak of Egypt. The Liberal even mentioned Egypt by name.

I'm glad we didn't pander to the likes of them.  Liberals want Canada to be a doormat for every misogynistic racist, lets say it: evil, abusive tyrant of the middle east and the world.   The UN is an unelected and corrupt body that is showing visible signs of decay.  But that's my opinion.

That's what I heard and saw.  It was worth attending and I would do it again.  I much more appreciate door knocking.  Its nice to talk to people one on one in their homes; unscripted and less the phony antics of the desperate parties and their biased media friends.  Politics happens on the doorsteps of constituents.  The rest is just manipulated media circus and people are tuning out.

Majority now or later

I can't think of a more painful way to get a majority Conservative government than to submit to a socialist coalition led by Jack "lay-off" Layton.  He didn't get anyone laid off?  Well you just wait.  I really don't want to go through an NDP era the way Ontario did with Bob Rae.

Can we skip that please?  Canadians, think of your family, your neighbors, your fellow citizens half a world away and blissful under the same flag.  The Liberal ship is going down.  Its only a vote.  You can even be a loyal Liberal and vote Conservative just this once.  Look at that party.  Its a disaster.  You will keep getting Martins and Dions and Iggys if you don't shut them down.  Conservatives had to vote Liberal in order to slap down the Progressive Conservatives.  Its your turn. 

Let Iggy go down with the ship.  You don't have to go down with him.  There is no shame in success.  Let the Liberals beg for your loyalty next time around.

We will all go down if lay-off Layton sneaks in.  20 billion in Carbon Taxes.  Hundreds of billions sucked out of the economy in total.  Larger endless structural deficits as Government expands explosively.  And to top it off we reopen the constitution!

Do you know what Meech lake was about?  Separatists have personally griped about that to me and it happened when we were kids.  This next time I fear there will be more than one provincial nationalist at the table.  Bring in a Green Shift/NEP2 and there will be several grieved parties to deal with.

Yes, he is that stupid.  A grinning fool.  He says so himself.  We are looking at the worst of all outcomes with the NDP in power.  "We can do this" is suddenly their motto.  They will do it, if you don't stop them.  Vote Conservative on May 2nd and get out the vote from everyone you know.

The Pie in the Sky Socialism of the NDP

The last thing Canadians need is a socialist wrecking ball to the fragile economy.

The latest polls showing a surging NDP in second place was delightful at first.  Its nice to see the old Grits falling flat, but a second place NDP means they will have the right to lead a coalition.  Unlike the weasel worded Liberals, the NDP has given full throated support to a Coalition with the Bloc.   They will be quite happy to overturn an election result and they might not even need the Liberals at all.

It's worse than that.  NDP promises are impossible even to the NDP.  Now that the possibility of an NDP government is actually a reality we saw them retract some of their campaign promises.  Yes its true.  I don't remember any party in any campaign in any country in the world to ever retract an expensive promise 1 week before the election.  Their actions are more astounding than their surge itself.

The retracted promise had to do with billions in spending on the back of Canadian industry.  In the last election the NDP wanted to "shut down the tar sands."  They would make the NEP look like a fun fair.  If  even the NDP has to rethink their own platform you really have to worry what these ideological purists haven't imagined they have gotten wrong.  Manufacturing, Transportation, Agriculture in addition to Energy would be hit hard.  No industry would escape.  The NDP is aiming for your pocket.

Lets look at the tricks from the NDP platform:

• "Stop the Tar Sands" They said so in the previous election.  Now the agenda is buried in their carbon taxes.
• Force credit cards not to go 5% above prime.  Are they going to force them to hand out cards too because  you can get loans like that if they think you can pay them back.  Does anyone really need another card?  This promise is essentially the end of credit cards.  Current accounts would be closed and new cards would probably have to be backed.
• Abolish the Senate.  I'd like to abolish some aspects of the Senate but the whole thing would be irresponsible.  They do important work in government and adding shocks to the government while shocking the economy is a recipe for disaster.
• Pull out of Afghanistan.  Jack always liked the Taliban.  He would leave those people high and dry, undo all our hard work and make future terrorist doubt our resolve.  If there was a war that was more justified and worthwhile since WW2 its Afghanistan.  Our combat role is over but our contribution isn't.
• Reopen the Constitution.  What could go wrong?  Woopee!
• Balance the budget by 2014.  LOL.  The platform that includes jokes.

Of course, this platform was never intended to be taken seriously.  A coalition provides a good excuse for completely ignoring any and all promises.  This goes for Liberals too.

They make tax and spend Liberals look tame by comparison.  Iggy would be nothing more than a minister while Jack would actually be PM.  Jack would turn this country around all right.  We would go directly into the same dumpster the United States finds itself in.  How many examples do we need that socialism doesn't work?

I don't suppose that BQ voters who flirt with ruinous federal socialists would ever vote Conservative.  The majority of Canadians who are in the center should wake up and realize this is a two party system.  You don't have to love the PM, but the alternative is a far left coalition of losing parties headed by a socialist and supported by a separatist and a zombie party. 

Pick up a newspaper.  We aren't out of the woods.  Don't gamble your country with an experimental socialist coalition.  They will personally cost you thousands of dollars and collectively put us all deep in the hole.  On May 2nd Vote Conservative.

Hidden Agendas

What better way to mask a hidden agenda than to point to someone else and cry "Hidden Agenda!"  I'm referring of course to the Liberal/Media desperation tactic that has been occurring post debate.  The debates didn't go well for Iggy and so we have this odious tactic.

First it was Health Care.  "Its the end of Health!"  That's about the size of it.  No facts.  No evidence.  Nothing but the usual raft of lies that make up to sum total of everything Liberals have to say.  They lie.  Then they lie about the lie.  They cover up the fact that the worst attacks on Health Care came form the Liberals themselves.  Meanwhile we have a promise from Stephen Harper to keep the health funding and transfers topped up.

Next Iggy dropped his coalition bomb in his interview on CBC.  Possibly a fatal mistake.  The tone of the desperation gets that much worse.  We hear now that "abortion will be illegal."  Sure.  After 5 years we hear this again.  Its not true now, just as it wasn't true for the last 3 elections.  The Liberals obviously view this little lie as a their secret weapon.  We see it come out only in their darkest hour.  There is some credibility cost to making these unfounded allegations but their credibility is shot anyway.

This type of scaremongering is simply an artifact of failure.  The Liberal Hidden Agenda is poorly hidden indeed.  The Carbon Tax and Green shift are hidden on page 46 of the Red Book.  The Coalition is hidden in the scenarios that every Liberal can answer detailed questions about.  The "Corporate Tax Cuts" were written into law with the help of the Liberals in 2007.  They are promising Tax Hikes.  The scale of their lies and contempt for the average person is breathtaking.  How can they call a Tax Hike anything but?  They will raise taxes. 

A party that can so boldly lie about their own plans and about the plans of their competitors is dangerous.  We as a people cannot reward this kind of politics.  It encourages the kind of politics we all hate, and weakens this country. 

I urge you to make the best choice.  It's important.  Please vote Conservative on May 2nd.  Vote for Canada.

The Virtual Coalition

Tom Flanagan has come up with the latest term for what the Liberals, the Bloc and the NDP are planning.  A Virtual Coalition is as good a name as any.  They plan to overrule the will of the people if they can.   Many senior Liberals have independently confirmed the plan while simultaneously denouncing a narrow definition of a Coalition.  I've prepared a value added video of Tom Flanagan's discussion with other political strategists.


They think that if they just don't call it a Coalition, Canadians will be okay.  Their collective contempt for the mind of a citizen is astounding to behold.  They think we can't put it together.  If they called it cotton candy, they believe we would suddenly think a coalition with these three was sweet and fluffy. 

Not only would a virtual coalition be a betrayal of the electoral mandate and illegitimate.  It would be inherently unstable, weak and wasteful.  Unstable and wasteful because the Bloc would strong arm it into paying ransom above and beyond what is fair to the rest of Canada, and weak because this situation would leave Canada vulnerable to external shocks to the economy that a natural loser like Micheal Ignatieff is unfit to cope with.  The Troika would put us at a competitive disadvantage with huge deficit spending, large tax hikes and general policy instability.

This is why a majority is so important.  Winning the election is not enough.  We can't count on the word of the opposition  parties, especially when they lie so openly about their bid for power.  This is truly a two party system.  The only problem is that the left wing party is schizophrenic.  We don't want a schizo government.   Iggy himself doesn't know who he is half the time.  He doesn't know he isn't entitled to be Prime Minister.

Vote For Canada

If you are Liberal you need to read this.  I won't take much of your time.  I know how all these parties and special interest fight for your eyeballs all day and how tiring it gets. 

Here's the thing:

Some of you vote Liberal because you are liberal.  You feel that liberalism is your identity.  You feel that voting for some other party would betray your personality and your identity.  You don't stay loyal because they are actually good for you or for the country.

I want you to know that your vote is not your identity.  Your vote is your property.  It belongs to no one else in the universe but you.  We have a secret ballot.  Nobody has to know about how you vote.  Not even the people who count your ballot know who cast it.   You don't have to obey your husband.  You don't have to please your wife.  You don't have to impress your clique or live up to some imaginary standard set by some interest group.  When you enter the voting booth its you alone that must choose the fate of this country.

Would you choose Micheal Ignatieff and his version of the Liberal Party?  Is he the best we can do?  I'm 33 years old.  Mr. Ignatieff has been out of the country for longer than I have been alive.  I don't mind if he wants to call himself Canadian.  Not at all.  I do mind if his absenteeism is supposed to make him so much more Canadian than any of us.  That is absurd.  He can be Canadian, but Prime Minister is a whole other story.  He doesn't even show up to work.  He's missed 70% of votes in the house.  He can't even win the leadership of his own party, yet this lousy MP wants to be PM.  Without a Conservative majority Iggy would seize power even while losing the election.  

This weak leader heads a steadily diminishing Liberal Party, who's best hope for becoming PM is to forge an agreement with the Bloc separatists and the socialist NDP.  Is this why you are a Liberal voter?  To borrow favors for the separatists?  This means all his slight of hand promises will be in the garbage on May 3rd no matter what the outcome.  This applies to all the parties on the left.  A vote for them is a vote for a mishmash of incoherent doublespeak and unbridled spending that won't last more than a year anyway.  We'll be right back here again in an election about nothing in no time at all. 

Just this weekend the Bloc vowed to pursue the break up of this country.  Is any of this the reason you might vote Liberal?    Is this just the cost of asserting your identity?  David Suzuki and Margaret Atwood don't even know you exist and they don't care.  They would love to see this country brought down as low as the USA is now.  They are happy to be sad for you because it validates their worldview.  How shallow would it be to trade your vote, for the imaginary approval of George Strombolopolous or some CBC executive?  

Conservatives in this country went through a terrible time after Brian Mulroney.  We deserved it and the country needed it.  It makes us all stronger.

Its time that the Liberals reinvent themselves.  They can only do this if you turn your back on them.  Its the only way they will get it.  Show them you can't be taken for granted.  Remind them who owns your vote.  They need some quality time in the wilderness finding their soul again.  They need it.  You can still be a liberal or even a Liberal by voting for the Conservative Party of Canada.

The Conservative Party is the right choice for Government.  A majority government can stand up to the Bloc.  Conservative experience is the best suited to protect the economy, national unity, health care, our troops and security.  Conservatives are the right choice for Canada.   

Vote Conservative.  Vote for Majority.  Vote for Canada.

Wise up Iggy

Count Ignatieff is getting desperate.  When I stopped laughing at his completely ridiculous "rise up" chant I had to wonder what the heck he is being fed on the campaign trail.  Too many hot dogs might kill an aristocrat you know.  Donolo might want to pack a tin of Russian caviar.

What was iffy thinking?  Was his crowd supposed to start throwing chairs or something?  Maybe its supposed to spread like a zombie plague?

Its as if the Grinch who stole Christmas was asking the Whos in Whoville to help pillage their own village. 

I think people are wise to this nonsense.  He is trying to channel the unrest in the Middle East.  Canadians would sooner look to the Japanese example of pride, honour, and duty to each other in crisis than to the wave of  violence in the Middle East.  When has the Middle East ever been absent unrest?  Does anyone really expect the uprisings over there to magically end in peace and prosperity happily ever after?

Good idea Iffy.  That's what we need here in Canada.  The country leading the economic recovery needs to behave more like the hell holes we send our troops into.    Anyone who thinks that, needs to shake it off right now.  Seriously.  Dump the Liberals at least temporarily because you are on the wrong team.

Wise up.  Send the pompous pretender back to where pretends to come from.

Which came first? Liberal Media Bias or Media Access to Slam Conservatives?

Access!  Access.  All this time.  A lifetime of Liberal Media and it was all because one day Stephen Harper would have a Minority Government and would deny that same Liberal Media access.  Unbelievable! 

John Ibbitson addressed the fact that the Ottawa Press Gallery hates the Prime Minister.  Well colour me surprised!  I've only known this since before it happened.  Now its so obvious they write about it.

Who's fault is it?  Well It's obviously Mr. Harper's.  He didn't provide access to himself and his Government that is why the media trashes Conservatives.  It's not because they are self-selected lefties and have been trashing Conservatives like Brian  Mulroney to Preston Manning to Stockwell Day.  They have been at it since they learned to write from left wing professors like Iggy himself.

The Government has to entertain the media.  We have to make them happy.  That is why they "fixated" on the refused entry to events to activists.  Remember they "fixated" on this while Liberals were expelling Neo Nazi's from their ranks and making apologies for thug hugging no-means-yes judges.  By the five furies you guys make me sick!

How did I miss this before?  The mainstream media hates Mr. Harper, because he isn't friends with them.  He isn't friends with the media because...the media hates Conservatives and Stephen Harper in particular.

How dare you call yourselves reporters.  Reporters report!  You don't make fake excuses for your "fixation."  You don't actively campaign for one party or another.  You don't push your personal agenda over the facts.  You don't LIE!

It was good of you to finally come out and admit what we have been saying all along.  You hate Harper, and by extension you hate all of us.  Fair enough, we hate you too.  You are just like the Unions; a special and selfish interest that uses its position in society to advance your own agenda.

Your propaganda subverts our democracy and weakens our country.  Instead of a strong experienced and responsible government, you would submit Canadians more tumultuous minorities and elections.  We saw it in Wikileaks.  Heck, you are even telling us about it.  You are exposed!  You aren't just exposed, you are lying about the reasons for too.

Shame on you despicable liars.  

So what should we do?

We can disenfranchise them.  This is what we are actually actively doing as conservatives apart from the Conservative Party.  Sun News is a part of this.  We can patronize Sun Media and any other media that services our wish for a friendly view of events and the world.  We didn't invent this.  We are the victims of this.  This is the whole point of socialism and its latest incarnation: green socialism. 

I believe that people are basically good.  Absent all the lies people are conservative.  Too many of them just don't know it.  You can't really change people by insulting them or threatening them.  People can only change themselves.  You can only lead them to water.  Disenfranchisement is the long term solution.  What do you know, its already happening organically too.  People are waking up to the Liberal Media.  Even when I was in high school we learned the saying: Its not NEWS, its VIEWS.  Well the next question is: Who's views are are making news? 

I'm a good sport though.  I believe in capitalism.  I want the best product so lets give the incumbent media a fighting chance.  They aren't all Liberal scum bags.  Ibbitson himself is evidently a lefty, but its his honesty that is endearing.  That's what this is about.  Its not about creating an empire of the right.  It's about tearing down the empire of the left.

Lets reach out to these dinosaurs and offer them the access they so dearly covet.  Go ahead.  Pick and choose reporters who may not have this hateful predisposition and give them a golden ticket to all the access they want.  Performance should be rewarded.  Wouldn't it be funny if access was dreaded by lefties for the favor that it implies.  LOL

Micheal Ignatieff: Admit me to your Rally!

Two people were barred from a Conservative rally recently.  You've heard the scandalous and righteous hype from the Liberals and the media about it.  Oh the humanity.  Oh the democracy.  Oh the something else, with tears of blood etc...

I'd like to challenge Micheal Ignatieff and the Liberal Campaign to allow me into their next rally in Alberta.  I have pictures with Mr. Harper on Facebook too.  "Democracy" for he but not for me, right? 

I'm a self-declared Conservative Supporter, blogger and card carrying member.  That basically means I'm a fan.  I'm just a vocal and opinionated private citizen and that's it.  I have as much to do with the Conservative Party as I do with the Calgary Stampeders.  -which is nothing at all.  I love them because I believe in them.  They are the best party that consistently exceeds my expectations for my Government.


I began planning to crash a Liberal Event here in Alberta but there don't seem to be any.  Here's a screen cap of Liberal events in Canada for the Election.

I couldn't resist re-colorizing the Liberal logo to reflect their ideology, but other than that, this is a direct lift from the Liberal website.  

The first thing you might notice is how sparse Liberal events are west of Windsor.  There are only 2 events in the west, one in Calgary and one in Vancouver.  Saskatchewan and Manitoba don't have any events at all and neither does Newfoundland.  You could fit entire continents into the area's that Liberals ignore and this is a general reflection of their policy as well.

The second thing you should notice is that the Territories are completely missing.  Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are just gone.  They don't matter to Liberals.  They don't have to visit, they don't even include them in Canada really.  4 times as many American States appear on the Liberal event map than the 3 important Territories that were simply cut off.  The election happens there too.  The Territories send many MP's to Ottawa including our outstanding Leona Aglukkaq.

Even if I crashed the event in Calgary, I can't be sure Iggy will be there.  It says Paul Martin will be there and he isn't even running.  Where are you Iggy?  The media tells us Conservatives have abandoned Quebec which they most definitely have not.  The Liberals have abandoned Alberta since Trudeau and that is a generally accepted fact.  Its not news. 

Well, if you can be bothered Iggy, come on out here.  I've got some things to say to you.  I won't put a pie in your face.  I promise.  This is what will happen if there is no security at your events.


I feel bad that this happened to those girls.  I want to share this great party with them.  It was overzealous and I'm sure it has happened to others in every party without media coverage.  I hope they can understand the care that must be taken against people who would harm our Prime Minister.  I'm sure Liberals and their media don't.  Perhaps the CPC campaign can reconcile the error with them and arrange a personal meeting with them to work it out.  I've heard the security guard has apologized.

Rallies are held for the party faithful and the faithful will understand the needs and possible sacrifices for success of the Party.  The fact we are even talking about this makes me wonder how much of this whole situation is some media theater.

If those 2 girls are somehow entitled entry to a Conservative Rally then I am equally entitled entry to any Liberal Rally.  I demand the right to enter all Liberal Rally's.  Let's see if the same rules apply in the other direction.

This is the disingenuous part of the latest faux scandal.   There have been credible threats against the Prime Minister before.  People are serving time prison for wanting to murder him right now. 

Jean Chretien once strangled a man who got in his way on TV.  Is this the scene you are trying to create at a Conservative Rally?  How about at your rally?

I once shook hands with Jean Chretien.  I wash my hands 6 - 10 times a day so those skin cells are long gone.  Not a trace of the old cretin are on me (but I could use a shower all of a sudden).

It was Canada Day and I was on Parliament Hill.  Her Majesty the Queen of Canada was there too and if my Prime Minister was shaking hands with the crowd then I was happy to shake it and wish him well too.  I respect the office and everything it represents if not the man holding it. 

If Liberals are serious about their faux scandal than they have to invite and admit me to their rally.  (If they have the guts to hold one around here and tell me about it)  They have nothing to fear except from what I might say to Count Ignatieff.  What would you say if you had a face-to-face to the Count?

....We all know this is nothing but another steaming pile of cow dung though.  I won't hold my breath.

What Page are the Stadiums on?

I haven't had a chance to get through the Liberal Red(-ink) book myself yet. Has anyone seen the 20 odd Stadiums that Iggy promised? Were they moved to the Hidden Agenda or just your average Liberal promise/lie?
