I attended my second ever protest march today April 15th 2019. One day before the most important election in Alberta history.
I captured a decent amount of the march and a few speeches. Mark Scholz the President of COADC gives a speech at the 10 minute mark.
There were about 500 people there more or less. We marched from Eau Claire to City Hall. I got some good footage of the march and of some speeches at City Hall. I also have some good pics of the signs that were out. Take a look down below.
About half the crowd said they voted already. Good on them. The other half can be counted on to vote tomorrow.
The March itself is non-partisan but the people aren't. If you want pipelines the party of the people is UCP and no other. Every single person knows exactly who can help Alberta and who's been hurting it.
Everything went pretty smoothly.
At one point some ignoramus meekly shouted "kill oil."
A lady of small stature but big character fearlessly replied "Back off man. I'm a scientist."
She very likely is. I've met many a geologist in the patch. I love them, but it doesn't take long to see why climatologists despise the original earth scientists. They know all about ice ages, warm periods, sea levels and coral reefs. My kind of people.
What would we do without Sun News? Here's Brian Lilley's take on the ignorance in New Brunswick:
In a way I like the anti-fracking movement. Its much easier to disprove than the Global Warming scam and it involves all the same characters. While global average temperatures have stopped tracking with CO2 and all the dire predictions have failed, low information leftards can still be counted on to attribute any random event to the angry gods of climate change. You may as well tell Muslims that their God isn't so great.
Fracking is way easier. The contention is that Fracking harms drinking water. Well how? This is where they are counting on the ignorance of their audience. The anti-fracking crowd hasn't got a clue about drilling. geology, fracking or even drinking water. I'll go into more detail in another post. For now I'll just say that a person against fracking is a deeply ignorant human being that has been sadly led astray.
All you have to do is explain the reality that occurs hundreds of times a day on this continent. All of it without a single instance of ground water contamination. Not even one. A reasonable doubter won't be able to have any disagreements once they possess the facts. A good place to start is the movie FrackNation. Once they wake up to the green machine that has been manipulating them about fracking, they'll begin to see the same tricks in all the other eco-hysteria.
Sun News is the only television news source that will tell us the truth about these things. None of the the others will give you the straight goods. Its not a conspiracy its groupthink. They are all progressives and progressives all think they are our parents. They shelter us from the truth in case we get scared or mad or sad... about the wrong things.
One blogger I read compared Sun News to news as McDonald's is to restaurants. Well ok so he doesn't like Sun News or McDonald's, but for the analogy to make sense you would have specify that McDonald's is the only place in the country that sells hamburgers and all the other restaurants are vegan.
Without Sun News Chief Spends would have probably got a medal for stuffing her face and calling it a hunger strike. Dr. Fruit Fly would still be out corrupting judges. The police would have charged flood victims in High River who were robbed by police. A private zoo would be closed by busy bodies and foreign groups like the Tides foundation would have their run of the country targeting business and livelihoods as they go.
That is just to name a few positive changes in a world with Sun News. Thank God for Sun News.
Chief Spence got her wish yesterday. Stephen Harper met with the Chiefs
and so did the Governor General. Harper handles the business end and Jonston
handles the cocktail party. That is how this country works. It doesn’t matter
if Chief Spence doesn’t like it or doesn’t understand it. (though I do hope she
likes the hors d'oeuvres I was made to buy her. They qualify as snacks.) The melodrama acted out by
some Indian people involved in Idle No More is repulsive. Chief Spence plans
to continue her “hunger strike”.Let’s
hope she goes all year, inventing new demands as each one is met. One notable
mistaken exaggerator claims Harper is involved in “genocide”.Yeah genocide.Think about the anti-Harper media for a
second and ask yourself if Harper could get away with even saying a word that rhymes with genocide? The people on the tantrum
side of this issue are doing something much worse than making a poor hyperbole
with their racial mass blood libel. They are
devaluing the horrors against the victims of real genocide.Worse, by ‘crying wolf’ it makes it easier
for their
Iranian allies to commit an actual
genocide. Conversely, it’s heartening
to see the humility and graciousness shown by this responsible government. All of this is in face of threats and
provocations. We sent them to Ottawa to
do the hard things and its awe inspiring to see it done so well. Chief Atleo also deserves our
thanks. It’s a relief to see that Chief
Spence and other crazies don’t represent the majority of kind and decent
aboriginals. Many 2nd class Canadians
are getting annoyed with the silliness of Idle
No More threats however.Either they
take us for fools or they are fools (probably some combination of both). They must realize that there are real limits to
what the taxpayer will put up with.Neither
the Canadian economy nor Canadian sovereignty is up for negotiation. We have to make sure that
last resorts are kept to the very last. There is no need or desire for the rights of the State to be
enacted. We have to be very careful that
does not come to pass. There are enemies
of our Confederation outside and inside that wish exactly that on us.So mind your rhetoric please. There is no doubt that
millions of Canadians would rise in defence of Canada at a word from the Prime
Minister.Millions of Canadians would have nothing
better to do if some of these threats actually came to pass.We
must also recognize that this is the worst case scenario. It’s a disaster that should be avoided at all
but the cost of our prosperity and sovereignty. Again I applaud the Harper
Government for its calm and rational approach to this matter. They should be commended for their responsible commitment to the wellbeing of all
Canadians of every background and ethnicity.Thank you for your skill and competence.
