The Dawning Realization of Dealing with the Islamic State

"Know your foe" said Sun Tsu.  ISIS knows us better than we the Civilized World know ourselves.  They have cunningly exploited the naiveté of the current White House and have enjoyed the opportunity it has given them.

The State Department's foolishness was on display at MSNBC the other day.  Even Chris Tingle-Leg Mathews could not sit through this slop.

When you've lost Chris Mathews, you've lost.  Everyone can see the shallow ridiculousness of the White House in that clip.  The argument can be eviscerated from every angle.  Poverty doesn't cause terrorism.  The United States can't even reduce its own poverty.  9/11 was not carried out because of poverty. Jihadists are not motivated by poverty.

It is the same sort of college protest club tripe spouted by Justin Trudeau regarding the Boston Bombing.  It is manifestly false and irresponsibly dangerous ideology.  I don't mean Islamofascism in this case, I mean the self loathing Islamofascist coddling liberalism that currently poisons our institutions.  It is the reason we haven't swept ISIS aside.  We all know NATO can brush aside ISIS in a single week if it had a will to do so.  It doesn't choose to do so.  The West is currently allowing ISIS to thrive and commit genocide as a self esteem building exercise for Middle Eastern dictators.

Obama's White House doesn't care to pretend anymore.  They say things that are monumentally stupid and verifiably false.  If we don't see it their way we are all just stupid.  They even arranged a PR trip to the Middle East to tell us how stupid we are.  Not a single person is buying it.  I don't even think the administration buys any of it.  Its the pabulum they devised for us and we are going to eat.  End of story.  Such are the minds of state supremacists.

I read Mark Steyn.  I know how bad things are.  I'm not discouraged however. There has been a sea change.  We've turned the corner finally.  Every time Obama swears up and down that ISIS is not Islamic they turn up the barbarity.  They go out of their way to show their gruesome murders are portrayed as sacraments.  Most people see it clearly even though Obama and his people don't.  That gives me hope.  We understand what they are and what is needed to annihilate them.

Unfortunately the containment strategy will have to last until Obama is gone.  I am absolutely sure he will create a disaster engaging in war as Commander-in-Chief.  Libya, Syria and Iraq are his disasters already.  Egypt only narrowly escaped disaster by reversing Obama's will and removing the Muslim Brotherhood from power.

The lesson of Benghazi shows that Obama would sacrifice his own people for the sake of his narrative.  That narrative of rolling up terrorism is now as derelict as the Embassy that was attacked.  How much concern would there be for Canadian troops given Obama's record with his own?  Obama can play games with Keystone, but when it comes to our troops we should be extremely cautious.

It won't be much longer before Obama has to leave the White House.  I am confident that the situation by then will have the public so thoroughly disgusted that even the left will demand war.

Time to bring back the Airborne Regiment

Everyone is an arm chair general these days, and why not?  The generals of World War 1 proved that military strategy can and should be up for debate outside of the opinion of "experts."    Politicians and pundits opine weather our contribution against ISIS is too much, too little or just a token.  Everyone is sure the war will be long and it will require boots on the ground to finally end it.

I don't approach these questions from the point of ignorance, but that hasn't stopped some of the most ridiculous suggestions from the weakest minds.  The idea that hugs and care packages would cause ISIS to spontaneously erupt in civility is popular in some circles on the left.  The mockery and laughter outside those circles is even more popular.

The way to hasten the end of ISIS and inflict maximum casualties on the worst of them is to open a Fire Base.  A Fire Base or Fire Support Base is a small encampment deep in enemy territory.  It was used in the early days of the war in Afghanistan to great effect.  A strategically placed Fire Base could cut ISIS forces in two.  It would enhance the allied advantage of overwhelming firepower and draw out ISIS forces.

Nothing short of a nuclear blast could destroy this proposed Fire Base.  Nothing indicates that they have such a device but if they did one could argue that the loss of a little Fire Base is preferable to any other use of a nuclear weapon by ISIS.  The Islamic Statists could really do no worse than ignore the irritating Fire Base.  That would not be a hardship at all since they would still cede control of the immediate area instead of losing it.  Special forces could also launch expeditions from an unopposed Fire Base.    In either case the Fire Base would eventually be unopposed.

Ideally I would place a Fire Base on a hill overlooking a major ISIS stronghold.  The hills south of Ar-Raqqah on the Euphrates River seem like a good candidate.  From there the Fire Base could dominate highways and canals, engage in psychological warfare, launch short range drones, and direct unlimited fire on despicable ISIS heads.

Of course Canada is not operating inside Syria for the time being.  This suits me just fine since under no circumstances would I trust Obama to lead a ground war of any kind in Iraq or elsewhere.  The guy can't build a bloody website in 3 years with unlimited money, there is no way I'd trust him with our troops.  This is part of the reason everyone thinks this war will last a very long time.  The allies political problems start with Obama and continue in all directions.

We have some time then before we can expect to play a role in the actual defeat of ISIS rather than its containment.  I believe that re-commissioning the Airborne Regiment for the specific purpose of operating a Fire Base is a great idea.

The original Airborne was unfairly disbanded by Jean Chretien amid the controversies of alleged torture in Somalia and some poorly timed hazing videos.  Chretien used the videos as the last straw with the public to make a huge cut to the military.

Now we find ourselves in need of the exact skills the Airborne was created for.  The Airborne Regiment would have been extremely useful in this conflict.  We have the opportunity not only to justify the re-commissioning of the Airborne Regiment but to rebuild and repurpose it from the ground up.

Call it the 1st Canadian Mechanized Airborne Regiment.  Fit it with light weight artillery and compact reconnaissance drones.  Specialize in integrating with allied fire control and drop it all on a hill in the enemy's choke points.

Asymmetrical warfare is here for the foreseeable future.  Evil armies like ISIS might only vanish into mist if an old fashioned invasion took place to e3radicate them.  ISIS under a different flag in a different region but with the same people and the same evil ideology.  A unit that was specifically designed, not to seize territory, but to kill the enemy wherever they are is called for.

That's my arm chair analysis.  I'd urge the various experts, generals and ministers to at least consider the ideas.  That expertise was acquired at great cost to taxpayers and yet isn't being put to use in a proactive way.  What we are doing right now doesn't seem to be working.  The rubble pile formerly known as Kobani, despite total air superiority and highly motivated local troops, is not the example I would hold up to be repeated in every town across the region.

Uncertain Outcomes of the Looming War Part 3: The Long War

Part 3: The Long War

The United States is telling us that this will be a long war from the start.  This isn't just managing expectations though its very wise to do so.

It takes time to get assets in place.  Those assets like fighter jets from a multitude of countries we already know are not enough.

No one knows when the war will end but it will end with victory against ISIS and possibly Assad.  It has started with bombing runs which are sure to intensify with time but analysts agree that bombs alone won't gain any territory.

We've had to watch the fall of Kobani in terrible slow motion.  Air strikes seem to only harass the enemy.  They don't accomplish the near term objective to contain ISIS.  Meanwhile the 2nd most powerful force in NATO sits on the border and watches enemy advance to their doorstep.  Turkey is enemy of ISIS and Assad but also to the defending Kurds.  They recently started bombing kurds within Turkey's borders.

So much for the argument about pulling your weight in NATO.  Some people are calling on Obama to be tough on Turkey.  They suggest that if Turkey doesn't step up the United States should recognize a sovereign Kurdistan.  Obama just hasn't got the stones for anything like that.  Nor could he offer Turkey the annexation of Syria.  So Turkey gets to sit back and watch their allied enemies fight each other.

Leon Panetta knows Obama really well.  The former director of the CIA, Mr. Panetta knows ISIS pretty well too.  He says that this war could last 30 years.  I do not doubt it at all.

The strategy so far seems to be to try everything except the one strategy we know will work:  A full scale invasion of Syria with infantry and armor that will push all the way to Baghdad.  Obama is simply incapable of giving this order.

Obama and the members of his administration don't know what they are doing.  That isn't just a random insult, though they well deserve every insult.  It is an actual observable fact.

Take for instance the administration's comments on Global Warming lately.  ISIS now controls a third of Kobani and the stated number one threat to US national Security is Global Warming?  This is notwithstanding that other horseman in the form of Ebola now spreading through the United States.   Ebola incidentally warrants sending "boots on the ground" to Africa in the eyes of the Obama Regime  while ISIS doesn't even rate that much.

Leon Panetta has it exactly right.  It will take 30 years or more to defeat ISIS if this kind of insanity persists in Washington.  They don't live on the same planet as the rest of us.  Imagine sitting down to a game of chess where the opponent can't see who's pieces are his own or the enemy's.  He can't see which squares are black or white.  He doesn't even seem to know how to win the game.  That person is essentially Obama.  Obama has zero chance of winning this war and therefore the allies also have the same chance.  luckily we only have a couple years left of him.

It's wrong to say that the air campaign has no effect on ISIS.  It does have an effect.  Every ISIS member killed, is a sex slave unsold, is an atrocity uncommitted, is one less Omar Khadr clone for the left to mewl and fawn over.  Though it comes at great cost to the taxpayer it is well worth it.

I hope to have Part 4 for you soon.  I'm going to change the focus from uncertainty to options.  I think the point about uncertainty has been driven home and there isn't much we can do about it.  I'm sure whatever Obama tries it will end up with the usual mess.  It's probably best not to even encourage an American led invasion on his watch.  There are other options however.

Uncertain Outcomes of the Looming War Part 2: Our Enemies

In part 1 of this series in the war against ISIS I wrote about the problems with some of our allies.  Barack Obama and the fantasy world of his mind he inhabits is the main one.  I left out others because they are less important are simply gone like Qaddafi and Mubarak.

Here's a short list of so-called allies that must have white knuckled fingers wrapped around the eject button of our little anti-ISIS friends list.

  • Saudi Arabia
  • UAE
  • Yemen
  • Qatar
  • Iran
  • Turkey
  • Jordan
  • Kurdistan
Some are more likely to bail than others and under different circumstances.  The situation is incredibly chaotic.  We can only see a few steps into the future. None of those parallel steps of possibility include the end of the war on ISIS.  We just can't predict how the above players will react to the dangerous situations we haven't yet conceived.

Lets get a look at some of the blurred lines between friend and foe.

This comes from our progressive friends at Think Progress.  It was made back before it was fashionable to endorse another war in the Middle East (Obama's 2nd).  Some of those dotted red lines have become solid red since then.    Still, it does nicely illustrate the complex situation that we must now become involved in.  Look closely.  Some of those entities are in direct conflict with entities that are providing monetary and military aid to them.  Insane yes, but not too different from the continuing American support of Saudi Arabia.

So we can see that friends and foes are separated by degrees.  There won't be any Axis and Allies in this conflagration.  Even the Allies of World War 2 weren't so friendly after the war, but look at this mess.  How will we know who we are shooting at even if they start shooting at us?

Know your foe.  It's a wise military slogan that goes all the way back to Sun Tsu.  Let us know them.

ISIS

Vicious, blood thirsty, and perverted, ISIS is known by many names.  The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL) or just the Islamic State.

Their flag looks to me like some chicken scratch with a great big dropping in the middle.  I've included the translation of the Islamic State's flag.  These are not nationalists.  These are not reactionaries or even Marxist revolutionaries.  They certainly are not mad about global warming.  These are religious fanatics who really believe they are following the true will of God.

Allah is on their flag.  Allah is in their minds and on their lips when they commit atrocity after atrocity.  Mass executions.  Beheading little girls.  Slavery.  All of it is done in the name of Allah and sanctioned by their Koran.

The deal maker would be one Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.  He is the Caliph of the Islamic State.  Caliph is like a religious king or emperor.
Neandertal in white.

Isis is everyone's enemy.  Even Al Qaeda is fighting them.  Let no one say 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'  That is completely false especially here.  Several of our enemies are fighting each other but they are all Islamist.  They could cut a deal at any time.  The Caliph was the head of Al-Qaeda in Iraq at one time and might still be.  It's certain that he is on a mission to make Hitler look civilized by comparison.

Syria

We almost sent jet fighters to help ISIS against Assad.  It never happened because because Obama lost his nerve.  Consequently Assad's forces held on to about half of Syria.  Assad is only marginally better than Abu Bakr but at least he isn't expansionist or quite as genocidal.

Once we deal with ISIS, which we currently have no idea how to accomplish, we'll have to finish Assad.  The Syrian dictator isn't as bad as ISIS but he is pretty bad.  Syria has committed several unspeakable atrocities with chemical weapons and against innocent children.  The same rule should apply to Assad as to ISIS.

Russia won't like it and that is just fine.

Russia

Yes Russia is an enemy.  I regret that it should be that way.  Their perennially aggressive stance is puzzling and irritating.  We have so much more in common than say with China but we are constantly opposed.  It's almost a cultural instinct.  Its an Imperial instinct perhaps a reactive acknowledgement that they ended up with a disproportionately large land mass.  Who knows really?

What we know is that Russia has a will to project power far beyond its immense borders.  It is open to any tactic be it deceitful or immoral.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a case in point.  Some have said Russia's invasion was a big mistake.  Was it?  Their economy is in tatters.  Their reputation is worse.  But what if you don't care about these things?  They are fleeting anyway.  Economies are up and down for one reason or another all the time anyway.  Reputation?  What's a Nobel prize worth these days?

But if you have imperialist values, none of that matters.  Russia has reacquired a land mass the size of 27,000 square kilometers!  Who can do that in this age of United Nations and globalization?  Years from now there will be statues of Putin in Crimea and no one will give a damn about the economic and political troubles it temporarily bought for them.

He played Obama like a fiddle and knew exactly what he was doing.   Imagine watching the grandeur of the Sochi games from ethnically Russian Crimea?  Now Mother Russian wants them back in her glorious embrace.   Do they care if Putin sends in troops without badges?  Sure, they went along with the big man's plan.  What was Obama going to do, start World War 3?

Don't kid yourself.  Putin is no fool.  Russia can shoot civilians out of the sky.  They can murder men women and children innocently on their way somewhere and the best we can do is send jets to nearby countries.   Again, do you want World War 3? - Conscription? -War rations? -Mushroom clouds?   No?  Putin's got our number alright.

The answer is not to attack Russia and go to war.  The answer is to thwart one of their greater projects, namely to nullify the Black Sea Fleet.  Russia supports Assad because of the base at Tartus.  We have another reason to annihilate Assad now.  If and when that country is secured we simply ask the Russians to leave.  They will not be welcome there any longer.  Its no less than what Russia did to Ukraine.  The Black Sea Fleet would then be entirely cutoff from the Mediterranean if Turkey so chose to enclose it.  What are they going to do about it?  Start World War 3?

Maybe you're starting to understand why this whole thing makes me nervous?

Iran

Russia has other irons in the fire than just Syria.  Iran is another of these dangerous allied enemies.  A state sponsor of terror.  The insane and evil Islamic State of Iran is also an enemy of the Islamic State.

It won't take much for Iran to throw a wrench into everything.  It could threaten Israel.  It could detonate a nuclear bomb. It could close the straight of Hormuz.  Iran is a wild card under Russian influence that could do any number of things to complicate the mission further.

But don't worry, Obama has it covered.  He'll outsmart them all.

Uncertain Outcomes of the Looming War Part 1: Our Allies

We are at war right now with the Islamic State.  Canada is in fact currently engaged with boots on the ground as Canadian special forces assist Kurds and Iraqis defend their homelands.  The Islamic Statists many threats against Canada directly and their crimes against humanity require an armed response.

That is the first thing that bothers me about this whole new conflict: its the fact that we have no choice in the matter.  We have to put off or abandon other things we wanted to do in order to deal with this.  Yet we must fight this evil now.  ISIS can't be allowed to get any larger.

So here we are again, 7 months after the end of the war in Afghanistan, going to war Islamic fundamentalists that are even worse than the last bunch.

I don't like it.  Something bothers me here.  I can not raise a single objection to war with ISIS.  Western democracies have been placed in check early in the game and now we have no option but to move against ISIS.    A whole new war wrapped with a neat bow.

Several of the deeply troubling things about the coming war can fit into these categories

  1. Our Allies
  2. Our Enemies
  3. A "long war"
  4. Unknown Outcomes
Each of these will explored in detail in different posts.

Our Allies

USA

The United States is seeking a broad coalition in the war while conducting most of the bombing against ISIS.  Just as it should since ISIS is a direct result of Barack Obama's foreign policy.  Some argue that the previous Gulf Wars precipitated this crisis but they have merely set the stage.

There is no need to go all the way back to the Barbary Wars.  It's sufficient to examine the current occupant of the White House since he will be the major influence on the current war.  Iraq's security was well in hand when Obama entered office.  His ideologically inspired promise to leave Iraq left a vacuum for ISIS.  Progressives essentially believed their own propaganda.  American intervention causes all of the trouble, therefore non-intervention solves all the trouble, or so they thought.

Obama began his version middle eastern meddling with his infamous apology tour.  He did nothing to help a rebellion in Iran.  Then he helped install the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt which was thankfully removed by another rebellion.  He also "led from behind" in Libya to create another vacuum for Islamists and lost an Ambassador and Embassy along the way.  He had some hard words for the Syrian Dictator, but meekly shrank from his "red lines" on Russian promises to hold back Assad's chemical weapons.  The lucky and unanticipated outcome in Syria was that only half of that country was left to the Islamic State.

The White House of Barack Obama is one that has little respect for the American public.  This is evident in the distraction campaign surrounding the death of Ambassador Stevens and the very public cover up that tried to pin it on some amateur movie.  Even now Obama is blaming his failures on bad intelligence while he routinely dodges intelligence briefings for rounds of golf.

Obama can't even find the wisdom to approve the Keystone pipeline.  Keystone will move oil from Alberta in the safest way possible to Texas over a country enmeshed with pipelines.  Obama can't see the obvious logic in approving this pipeline and we are supposed to follow this man into battle?

As much as I'd like to say no, I simply can't.  Genocide is occurring today.  How could we justify our non-intervention to the victims families with talk of some tit for tat for the approval of a pipeline?  That might be Obama's America but that is not who we are.  We can't allow ourselves to be less than who we are because of a feeble minded leftist named Barack Obama.  He caused this crisis but we'll help him end it.

Aside: The best way to snub Obama is to develop nuclear weapons of our own or at least repeal the treaty on non-proliferation.  It would send the message that we lack confidence in our close ally while at the same time strengthening Canada's sovereignty in a cost effective way.  Politically this would be a severe blow to Obama's anti-nuclear agenda since he himself would be the reason for a new nuclear power rising where there was once only a docile neighbor.  It remains politically impossible here for now, but as I'll show you we are on the brink of massive geopolitical upheaval.  The opportunity may present itself.

Europe

Remember when Stephen Harper went to NATO to ask for additional troops in Afghanistan?  Only the US provided more troops.  Now when there is trouble in Europe's backyard Ukraine, they demand we do more.  They haven't been shy about committing jets against ISIS anyway.  That is pretty commendable and actually a shrewd policy.  We should mirror their example in the case of ISIS.

Saudi Arabia

If there were an election held in Saudi Arabia today we would find that ISIS had secured that country too.  The House of Saud is our friend but perhaps frenemy is more correct.   At best they are the pet fascists of the United States.  At worst the Saudis are a useful interface for the extreme Wahabi cult to influence the west.

Nevertheless we would not be better off by ignoring the ISIS threat to Saudi Arabia.  It doesn't matter that their money and ideology directly created ISIS in the first place.  If Iraq falls then Saudi Arabia would be next.  I have little faith in their military even though they are well equipped.  The Saudi military probably will melt away in the face of serious fighting.  That is the trend shown by Arab armies in modern conflicts.

The streets would run with blood from purges in Saudi Arabia while ISIS ranks would swell like never before.  Their evil army would be replenished with every good imaginable including very possibly nuclear weapons.  Worse than any of that would be the psychological impact of ISIS capturing Mecca.  Every Muslim on earth could not ignore ISIS at that point.  Would Muslims individually side with the infidels or with ISIS?

We would have a real World War on our hands if ISIS isn't stopped now, never mind the terrorism.

Obama should spy on the Pope MORE

I disagree with Rand Paul.  Obama should listen to every word the Pope says.  Obama should spend every waking minute studying Pope Francis.

Rand Paul says "I don’t see any advantage to spying on a religious leader."  A religious leader is just another person and people generally shouldn't be spied on without cause.

Obama has a cause.  The President sucks. Nothing he knows is good, and so nothing he does is right.  What Obama has done wrong this time is fail to study the Pope enough.  He probably just paid one of his spooks to do it for him.

Rand Paul goes on to say that spying on the Pope is not in the National Interest of the US.  Normally yes, but for Obama it's vitally important for his nation that he study the Pope and perhaps more good people.  If Obama only listened to the Pope instead of Saul Alinsky the US and the world would be in a much better place than it is today.

Unfortunately, if Obama wanted to go to confession it would require a similar sized commitment on the Pope's part.

America Deserves Obama

Obama won.  Americans lost.  Oh well.

I wanted Romney to win, not for Romney, but for me.  -for we.  We all do well when they do well.  Economics is pretty simple.

This isn't the end.  Mark Steyn has it wrong.  A negative "hockey stick" is just as improbable as the positive ones.  We never hit the asymptote.  That is we fly right past where its supposed to be.  Time is the x axis and time never stops.  So if the area behind the asymptote is undefined then we know that infinite exponential curves plotted along a time axis, positive or negative, will always be wrong.  Always.  Another variable always intrudes on our simple little graphs to change the outcome.  The curves either plateau or they crash.

Obama will not be the end.  Obama will be their Pierre Trudeau.  An icon of an age and then everyone will agree he was wrong on most everything.

Obama put ~$1,000,000,000,000 on the American credit card in the first term.  There is only one direction that number will go.  He is raising taxes across the board with Obamacare and still plans to tax job creators.  He stepped in to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline twice for political reasons that seem to have paid off.  All the while the economy suffers.

This might sound like partisan campaigning but I'm sorry the problems above are not going away.  These are real problems caused by Obama.  Binders, Bain Capital and Big Bird, those are going away forever because they were never there.  Smoke and mirrors.

Socialism ends in misery my fellow Humans.

Europe is in tatters.  The Middle East is burning (still).  China is building ghost cities with slaves.  The United States is blind and stupid.  I just can't see how any of this will be resolved painlessly.

The affirmative action presidency is just not up to the job.  I think what Americans really wanted was a mascot when they picked Obama.  Oh well.  What else can I say?  Some kids don't learn until they get punched in the face.

The invisible hand of markets is going to be a fist next time around.

I think the world economy is hooped.  America's credit card is maxed out.  They are incapable of slowing down their spending rate, nevermind staying below the "Fiscal Cliff" credit limit.  Then they print money, thereby increasing the need to borrow even more because that money doesn't buy what it used to.  Then you have government spending on pet projects that creates false demand that raises prices for real profitable private businesses.  Don't forget the borrowing for the spending and interest on borrowing that all has to be paid with taxes someday.

This is a flushing toilet bowl.  It doesn't take a genius to figure out this is a recipe for negative growth.

The only way to overcome this is with a booming private economy that grows so much it pays these extra costs without blinking.  Do you see that happening?  What kind of an economy can make a trillion borrowed dollars feel like nothing?   Not this one.  No sir.  This is an artificial economy propped up by deficit spending and low interest rates.  You want unsustainable?  Look at current fiscal policy around the world.

Oh well.  I still have my xbox.

I hope I'm wrong about it all.  I'll tell you this though: I will be contributing as little as possible to this economy.  I've set myself up to cruise to my destination with fuel to spare.  I can afford to lose some altitude and climb back later.  I've built that into my flight plan on account of the massive obstacles ahead.  I encourage you to think about your flight plan and watch out for mount Obama.

Obama the foreign policy genius

This week should completely and utterly dispel the media myth that Obama is some kind of foreign policy demi-god.  The latest re-imagining of the Obama legend was that the US President has better foreign policy experience than Mitt Romney.

Sure.  If you call experience at getting it wrong something to brag about, then Obama has loads of experience.  Tons.  By that rational he's the worlds greatest economist now too.  -Just by being President.  Why he even killed Osama Bin Laden with his own two hands.  Biden was in the room man!  They should give him all the Nobel Prizes next year.

After all that bowing and apologising to the middle east what hath Obama wrought?  Chaos! Terrorism!  Look at this map they showed on Fox earlier.  It's a map of the unrest since September 11th 2012.

Genius.  Pure genius.

The mindless and despicable media boosters conveniently overlook the serious implications of coordinated murderous terrorist attacks.  Instead they repeat the thinly veiled propaganda that its all about some dumb video.

I haven't seen the video myself because from what I've heard it's a total waste of time.  It could have been produced by high school kids.  In actuality it was produced by an Egyptian accused of fraud and has a previous conviction of producing crystal meth.

The Obama administration's response to all this went something like:
"sorry. sorry. Sorry. Sorry! SORRY!"

Genius.  YouTube has done a better job of explaining America to the rioting savages.  America did not make any video but they apologized for it.  An apology for something you didn't do is still a lie.  Should the barbarians ever come to understand how this stupid video was allowed to be made, they will at once understand the craven cowards that now hold the US presidency.

Billy-Boy Clinton had his embassy attacked once by terrorists.  His response was to lob some cruise missiles into the city.  He killed some random people who likely had nothing to do with the bombing and let the whole thing fester.  Eventually it all led to 9/11, and then back to this week again.

Good thing Hillary is on it.  The savages chant: "Mon-i-ca! Mon-i-ca!" when she comes around.

What a crack foreign policy team they have there.  That video was from July of this year.  Obama is going to need a lot of missiles.

I'm sure this is all just part of the 8 year plan.  There weren't enough apologies.  The bows weren't solemn and deep enough.  Obama was just getting to part where he kisses the feet or Arab leaders and wears a special presidential shoe-hat.  That is when the Muslim world will finally show some respect and decency to America.  Just give him more time.

US foreign policy just appears to be in shambles.  The US economy just appears to be a total disaster.  He isn't finished yet.  Just get wasted and cast your ballot for team Obama and you wont feel a thing.

Why the Bank of Canada Cares if Corporations are Hoarding Cash

The first time Mark Carney advised cash heavy Canadian corporations to release more of their reserves conservative bloggers and mainstream pundits roundly criticized him.
The tone was one of indignation.  ‘How dare a central banker give advice to private business,’ at length they all had to say.  Maybe it was a reaction to the MSM framing the advice as an admonishment to business.  It certainly wasn’t an order.  The BOC has no authority to give such orders.
When the punditocracy over reacted to the perceived chiding they missed the real story.  This is the reason the BOC was out there giving that same advice again yesterday.
The question nobody is asking is why are corporations hanging onto cash?  Why would you build up a store of cash or a store of anything?
This isn’t rocket science.  People, corporations, governments, and ant colonies, hoard resources when they expect scarcity in the future.  Our corporations are half expecting cash to be scarce.  That is to say they are afraid of the uncertain world economy.  They aren’t sure if the money they have now is the only money they will ever see.
I watched one of those faux debates about this on Lang and O’Leary.  Amanda Lang actually suggested that the government should force corporations to raise wages if they hoard cash.  All O’Leary could say was “don’t even try Amanda don’t even try”.  What O’Leary should have tried to say was that forcing corporations to spend money against their own interest is exactly what they are so afraid of.  Imagine Mulcair or some other well meaning idiot tried to legislate Lang’s idea?  Forget hiring new people they can’t afford.  Forget re-investing in their business for fear of being short come payroll.  This kind of thinking sends a chill through the economy as people and business hunker down to wait out the storm.  -or die in it.
I said corporations are holding onto cash couple of weeks ago myself.  (before Mark Carney I might add.  I’m not always right, but I like to be right)  I did no research.  All I had to go on were my own instincts.  You may scoff at that, but instincts can be entirely rational.  Fear of economic uncertainty is entirely rational so long as Barack Obama remains president.
Obama is an unfolding disaster.  Only a Marxist could spend a trillion dollars with nothing to show it but bankrupt solar companies and half a pipeline.  He’s scorned his allies and encouraged America’s adversaries (not his personal adversaries, Putin endorsed Obama… and Assad).
Fear is pervasive in the business community.  If you want to know what uncertainty looks like, watch this video of Obama.

Inspires confidence doesn’t he?
Europe is in trouble but I believe their days of stupidity are behind them at least.  It’s all about consequences for them now.  Surely Americans will see the folly in following Obama down that hard cul de sac road.
Obama is a disaster for America, for Canada and for the entire world.  The economy really does pivot entirely on the November election.  Democrats are running on a “hard road” of lowered expectations through a “great recession” which I’m sure they will deliver if they are allowed.
Republicans will have a Romney boom that you can take to the bank.  The Republican White House will be rational rather than ideological for once.  They will not spend money on mystical environmental wishes nor will they block private money from being spent for practical purpose.  They will not pass thousands of pages of sweeping transformative and encroaching legislation that includes the highest tax hike on the middle class ever.  Their focus will be the economy first and foremost as it is here in Canada with its quantifiable successes.  Investors will have the confidence to invest and away we go.  Happy days for all.
So we have before us two vastly different futures.  A continued Obama presidency where he has the “flexibility” to create a community organizer's paradise is one where corporations will need to hoard and hide every dollar from the government.  Obama is an existensial threat to business.
A Romney government will produce the opposite.
This is what the Bank of Canada governor is really concerned about.  Everybody has a pile of money waiting for Obama’s exit.  If he does indeed exit, all that money, all that stimulus and quantitative easing will hit the street at the same time.  It’s common knowledge what happens then: inflation.
Suddenly money is everywhere and everyone is spending it.  All manner of goods become scarce and the price goes up.  Inflation is a problem currently, so imagine how it would be if the US got out of its socialist slump?  The Fed and the BOC would have no choice but to start destroying all the money they printed.  The only way to do that is to raise interest rates or see the currency lose much of its value.  Econ101.
Carney thinks Obama is hooped and so do I.  He’s right to encourage businesses to invest while the currency still has the power it does.  Money won’t be so cheap when things get better.  I think they even understand this but aren’t so sure.  Democracy is funny sometimes.  -Dangerous other times.  I can count 2 provincial elections so far that should have been a sweep for the opposition but somehow they weren’t.  Wasteful, corrupt lying crooks have managed to hold onto Ontario and Alberta when by all rational assessments they really should not have.
So hold your money if you want to be safe from Obama.  Risk it if you want to win with Romney.  Freedom is your ability to choose your own path based on your own perception of the future and the environment.  It is not freedom from good advice.  My advice would be to support Mitt Romney any way you can.

Is Obama Planning to Betray his Environmental Base over Keystone XL?

You can’t trust a turncoat.  Even if they betray their own team to help yours, their loyalty will always be suspect.  The traitor can be redeemed of course, but not with a continuing pattern of betrayal.  The Obama administration has shown a pattern of treachery that has every indication of extending to the Keystone XL controversy.

Dealing with Obama’s America is treacherous indeed.  For better or worse Mubarak’s Egypt was a US ally that was summarily cashed in.  Same thing with Gaddafi in Libya.  Contrast this with Russia’s embarrassing loyalty to the murderous Assad regime in Syria.

The rightness or wrongness of those decisions continues to evolve, but the fact remains that the Obama Administration does not place a high value on loyalty.

America’s closer allies like Israel and the United Kingdom have been publicly snubbed as well.  Nevermind little Mexico who gets to deal with Obama's administration supplying assault weapons to drug cartels.

If the United Kingdom is America’s brother, then Canada is America’s wife.  How does the Obama administration treat its wife then?  The decision to reject the Keystone XL pipeline is a backhand smack across the face.

We know they need it.  They know we want to give it to them.  No Brainer.  Instead we get the ultimate expression of ‘spite your face’ politics.  Economically speaking, environmentalists would cut off their nose to spite their face.  This is exactly what the Obama administration did when vetoing the Keystone XL pipeline not just once but twice.

There is no question that these decisions were forced by the powerful environmental lobby.  The façade of environmental concern is completely misleading.  Endangering the  Ogallala aquifer is the excuse for the rejection .  Nebraska’s Ogalalla aquifer is not only criss-crossed by thousands of kilometres of pipelines already, it has oil and gas wells that drilled right though the Ogallala to get to the zones below (and fracture them).  None of this was a concern before and it’s not a concern now except in the case of Keystone.

Bull.  The excuse is bull.  The eco-nuts threatened to pull their ground game for Obama for the next election.  Obama needs them, but just until after November.

The only reason environmentalists want to stop the pipeline is to stop the oil sands and inhibit any devolvement of oil infrastructure.  CO2 from oil is the root of all evil in their earth religion.  For this reason alone were they able to bend a sympathetic Obama to their destructive policies and cancel the Keystone XL.

Quietly we hear that it’s only temporary.  The Keystone pipeline is only delayed until after the election.  Obama even approved the construction of a portion of the Keystone XL pipeline.  (A pipeline to nowhere?)

Obama is going to approve the Keystone XL after the election.  Why after the election?    Approving the pipeline after the election allows Obama to mobilize and use the environmental stooges that make up his base.  After the election he can just betray them, or betray the unionized pipeline workers.  We can't be certian what he'll actually do but we can be sure he's lying to at least one of his special interest groups.

Presidents are limited to 2 terms only.  Obama won’t be facing the voters again.  He just has to make it through this election and he can do whatever he wants.  He can betray anyone he wants.  He’ll say anything to win the election.

It isn’t the first time he has said as much.  When speaking to then Russian President Medvedev, Obama said into a hot mike:

Obama: "This is my last election ... After my election I have more flexibility,"
Medvedev: "I will transmit this information to Vladimir."

They were talking about missile defence.  Obama is planning to betray another ally, likely Poland.

American’s would do well to skip the Obama ambiguity and just go with Mitt Romney.  Mitt Romney said he would approve Keystone on “Day One.” On Keystone XL he also said "I will build that pipeline if I have to myself."   It’s a pretty stark contrast to Obama.

Obama is a treacherous liar.  It looks as though he will betray his own base of environmentalists after the election.  You can’t really be sure though.  The Obama administration encouraged rumours that it will in fact approve the Keystone XL.   What reason is there to believe him?  It only demonstrates what little respect he has for his base of eco-nuts. Are they not paying attention?  (wow they are soooo intelligent)

American's should fire this liar.  Mitt Romney is the guy they can count on.

Romney/Ryan Energy Independence Plan Quotes HMPM Stephen Harper

Today the Romney Campaign released a major campaign plank for their election to the Office of President of the United States, which includes several quotes from our Prime Minister the Right Honourable Stephen Harper.

“As Canadian Prime Minister Harper notes, fostering a greater North American energy partnership that replaces OPEC imports with stable supply from secure sources at discounted prices should be a “no brainer.” And Mexico is now displaying a renewed interest in collaborating with outside partners to increase development of its own plentiful resources. By collaborating with these countries on energy development, America can guarantee itself a reliable and affordable supply of energy while also opening up new opportunities for American businesses and workers in the region.” (pg. 12)

This is international cooperation with close regional allies to promote economic development within the relative economic safety of North America for the benefit of all participants. Is this easy or what? It’s so easy when the only agenda is the welfare of the citizenry.

This one policy plank alone is enough to win the election. It makes so much sense. Even the losers win. Everyone wins when the economy is free to grow. Everyone wins when people are free to grow and prosper and improve their lives and the lives of others.

Obama’s response to his purposeful increase in energy prices? -Tap the Strategic Oil Reserve...again. Unbelievable. Just incredible. I’m going to stay away from the whys and wherefores of Obama’s disastrous energy policies. Suffice it to say that at the very least President Obama is grossly ill equipped and woefully incompetent to lead the free world.

It’s never that simple though is it? Do you suppose it’s just a case of Forest Gump accidentally landing in the Oval Office?

The Prime Minister made an excellent move calling the Keystone XL a “no brainer.” In a world of lies the truth is a potent tool. Ezra Levant can also feel ebullient since the core essence of the “Ethical Oil” argument is also contained in the passage above. Sound logic and potent truth: deadly.

Sun News can also take pride in providing another quote from HMPM Stephen Harper. They do so alongside the company of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Department of Energy and so on.

Canadian PM Harper: “Look, the very fact that a 'no' could even be said underscores to our country that we must diversify our energy export markets…We cannot be, as a country, in a situation where our one and, in many cases, only energy partner could say no to our energy products. We just cannot be in that position.” (Bryn Weese, “Harper Determined To Get Canadian Oil To Asia,” Sun News, 4/3/12)

Read the whole thing right here. It’s important. I have only just scanned it myself. Every wonk and politico in the hemisphere will be all over it before long. Google has almost 4000 news articles at the time I write this already. Enjoy!Energy Policy White Paper 8.23

Off the chart stupidity in Obama Nation

Obama is a total train wreck.  Obama's incompetence strains the English language to find adequate the word to define it.   Stupid?  Idiotic?  Moronic? Idealist?  Timid?  Wrong-headed?  Clueless?  Obama is all those things, but more so.  It's not enough to call him stupid.  The moron freezing his loser butt off in an open sewer that was once a city park tonight, that's stupid.  Obama takes it to a whole other level.

This is the kind of stupidity that lends half a billion to negative cash flow companies like Solyndra for a flawed ideology at best, and/or to give heavy Obama campaign donor George Kaiser a bailout at worst.  That bad loan was in turn loaned to the US with no realistic plan to pay for it.  Some unborn tax payer was sold as a slave to Obama's political cronies.

Why does he and his administration need to think so hard about the Keystone XL pipeline?  It's a "no brainer," said Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a man known for his wise strategic decisions.  Obama's eco-nut base is so fickle that Obama is afraid to lose them in the upcoming election over this.  He would stand to lose a lot of campaign money and a host of volunteers.  The Keystone XL and its tens of thousands of permanent American jobs will have to wait until after the election.  Those workers can go camp in a city park or something.  The only thing important to Obama is campaign donations from the special interests that own him. They are the special interests that made him.

This campaign cash gain to Obama comes at the expense of real revenue at a time when the US needs it the most.  The US deficit is 1.3 trillion!  US Unemployment is at 9.1%!

I suppose he really does think Americans are stupid.  Never mind Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Canadian oil indecision, snubbing friends, groveling to enemies, and the trillions spent with nothing to show for it.  Nah.  All America really needs is a slick 2012 election campaign and all will be well.  Obama needs to continue to nap in the Oval Office and golf.  That is all that really matters to the administration.    It's not their money after all.

The leftards are right about America.  America does suck.  They should know, they did it.  They are doing it.  They, the left, is responsible for the hole America is in.  Mark Steyn pointed out the on Sun News the other day that all this play money comes from China, and the US still gives millions in foreign aid back to China.  What a deal!  Take a bow progressives.  You have really out done yourselves on that one.

America is insane, completely insane.  Not Americans, the people, but the United States is crazy.  Spending like there is no tomorrow and turning away good jobs.  If a person acted like the US they would be locked up.  Progressives have talked all the sense completely out of politics and pat themselves on the back for it.  The entire western world is sick with this Progressive/Liberal/Socialist/Marxist disease we can aggregate as The Left.

Stupid can't begin to describe the Obama administration.  The word is just too soft for the insanity unleashed by this community organizer and his pack of Marxists.  This little rant started with my inability to concisely state the scale of the Obama administration's stupidity in one word, but I think I've found it.  Obama is Leftist.
